Standing Strong for What is RIGHT.
When I was in my late teens and living in Detroit, I began noticing many people from other nations moving into our city and the surrounding communities. I saw several families living together under one roof. At that time, I did not fully understand why it bothered me; after all, I came from a large family, and many of us lived together under one roof. As a young person, something about it still felt different to me.
One day, while I was praying, I heard these words rise up in my spirit: “IT’S A SETUP.”
The Lord began to show me that people coming from other nations would have a great opportunity to hear the Gospel and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Once I understood that, my frustration began to ease, and I was able to see the situation from a different perspective.
My heart has always been, and still is, that EVERY human being would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
(I Timothy 6:15; Revelation 17:14; Revelation 19:16)
It is VITALLY IMPORTANT that everyone who comes into the United States does so LEGALLY and is willing to ASSIMILATE into our nation by respecting and obeying our laws.
Our founding fathers established this nation upon the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION and the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. These foundational documents were put into place to protect our freedoms, preserve order, and establish the laws by which our nation would be governed.
We MUST hold everyone accountable to these laws.
Many people have come, and are continuing to come, into our GREAT country with ideas that conflict with the principles and ORIGINAL INTENT upon which America was founded. We must not allow outside governments, ideologies, or systems of law to replace the Constitution and laws of the United States of America.
For example, before the Revolutionary War, the colonies were often separated by their different Christian denominations. Under George Washington’s leadership, we came together to fight against Great Britain and won.
Four years after winning the war, the 13 colonies sent delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia to frame the Constitution of the United States. They recognized that they were more powerful TOGETHER than they could ever be apart. Therefore, they put aside their denominational differences and came together in UNITY for the good of the nation.
They understood that more challenges and more wars would come. If America was going to survive and remain strong, its people could not allow denominational differences to keep them divided.
During the Constitutional Convention of 1787, the delegates recognized that denominational division could weaken the nation. The various Christian groups did not have to abandon their individual beliefs, but they did have to put aside their differences and stand together as one people.
This understanding helped shape the First Amendment and its protection of freedom of RELIGION. In its ORIGINAL CONTEXT, this freedom allowed the various Christian denominations in America to worship and practice their faith without one denomination being established over the others. It was not intended to place America under the authority, laws, or governing systems of foreign religions.
We must remember the original intent upon which our nation was established. We MUST not allow any foreign government to govern in America, and we cannot allow our country to be ruled by the laws of foreign governments.
Exodus 20:3 states:
“You shall have NO other gods before Me.”
We can love ALL people while still standing STRONG for truth, righteousness, and the laws of our nation. Loving humanity does not mean abandoning truth. It means having the courage to speak truth with conviction, wisdom, and love.
