For reference, I was told to google "Intersticial Cystitis" by a gyno, then told to google "oh hold I can't remember the name of it...pelvic something." 5 minutes later "oh go home and google pelvic congestion syndrome" by an internal medicine specialist.

Hey twitter, what would you do if you waited months for a medical specialist referral only for that specialist to tell you to google complex disorders and conditions you might have? Happened to me twice while on year ten of trying to diagnose my issues.

Curious if any in #ABhealthcare have input? This can't be standard practice. Aren't we encouraged to avoid googling or WEBMD-ing our symptoms? I didn't go to med school. My comms. degree will only take me so far in deciphering medical journals and studies.
