@lizcastro You notice this on the roads. When I first came to Iberia, 37 years ago, even short journeys meant cleaning your windscreen of all the dead insects on it, when you got to where you were going. Now it's rare to get two on the same day. No insects = fewer birds. Silent forests too
@tjparfitt@Lord_Sugar I can't go along with you on this one, Tim. I am a freelance translator. Always worked from home, never missed a deadline in 32 years. Its a freedom commuting can never offer. Sugar wants to make sure his employees are only dedicating their entire existence to enriching him.
@tjparfitt Considering that I was quoted Eighty Quid last week for a train from Colchester to Gatwick Airport, I can't imagine it. I was with my daughter and it would have cost us 160 quid on the train. A taxi only cost us 130!
@valtonyc Congratulations on winning some justice. I doubt you would ever have had any in Spain had you been extradited. If I were you I wouldn't rush home. The authorities here do not care what "foreign" judges say, they'd lock you up as soon as you stepped off the plane.
@lizcastro Thanks for the heads up about The Nields. Great band and fine female vocalist.
Have you heard our album: "Thundering Down" (by The Saturday Blues Project) on Spotify? I'm the vocalist and lyricist.
Cheers,
Berni
@lizcastro I planned a year here... to improve my "Spanish" before heading to Nicaragua...That was in 1986. I'm still here. I rarely use Castellano, most of my socialising is among Catalans. I ended up a translator from Catalan to English. Life offers us such twists and turns, doesn't it?
@lizcastro Carles is just a pawn in the game between the fascist judiciary (and its PP, VOX and Cs allies) and the government of Sanchez. Though timid, Sanchez's move towards long overdue reforms is seen by them as going too far and they'll put a spanner in the works whenever possible.
@SpainMMG@StephOsborn1@MuseoGuggenheim Just a little note: the sculpture is "famous" not "infamous" - the latter word always suggests a negative context: e.g.: "Jack the Ripper, the infamous mass murderer".
@QuimTorraiPla Congratulations al Senyor Vallverdú. Quan vaig arribar a Catalunya, fa 35 anys, vaig començar a aprendre català. Vaig llegir molts dels seus llibres per joves i em van ajudar molt amb fer els estudies més divertits. Per molts anys "profe" estimat!
