My lawyers at Enigma Law have agreed to look at midwives’ experiences, with a view to obtaining barristers’ advice on the potential for Group Litigation (like the Post Office)
We now need to identify whether there are common legal and factual themes across midwives’ experiences.
From the many midwives who have contacted me, recurring concerns include speaking up about maternity safety followed by bullying, harassment, detriment, disciplinary action, grievance processes, professional referrals or other consequences.
But this needs to be assessed properly by lawyers.
We initially need 5–10 midwives who are prepared to share their experiences and give explicit consent for their information to be provided to Enigma Law.
We also want to hear from midwives who have already taken legal action — whether you WON or LOST your case. This includes Employment Tribunal proceedings, settlements or other relevant court proceedings. Your experience and the evidence from those cases may help identify common themes.
