Accuracy of continuous glucose monitoring systems in #ICU:
🔍 scoping review
🍬 great diversity in accuracy reporting
⚖️ accuracy varied depending on CGM & comparator, may be better for intravascular CGM & potentially lower during hypoglycemia

I am very happy to announce that your RCT “Iloprost and Organ Dysfunction I Adults with septic shock and endothelialiopathy”, the COMBAT-SHINE Trial, has been published in JAMA Open.
Thanks to all collaborators who made this happen.
RCT: Iloprost did not reduce mean daily severity organ failure scores (vs placebo) in adult ICU patients with septic shock and endotheliopathy. https://t.co/v1KrTNHI2D
Sine Wichmann defended her PhD thesis "Treatment of Fluid Overload with Furosemide in ICU Patients".
Assessors were Steffen Christensen, Niels Van Regenmortel and Kirsten Møller.
Proud to be supervisor on this project with Anders Perner, Rasmus Berthelsen and Theis Itenov.
Martin Schønnemann Lund successfully defended his magnificent PhD thesis "Endotheliopathy and Respiratory outcomes" at Nordsjællands Hospital.
Good discussion with the assessors (Strøm T, Bentzer P, Osteowski S)
Proud to have been a supervisor on this project.
GODIF trial have passed the first interim analysis - 100/1000 participants. Conclusions: “potentially clinically important and statistically significant difference between groups in fluid balance…compliance is excellent…trial should continue recruitment without alteration” .
This GODIF trial looks awesome!
Goal directed fluid removal with furosemide vs placebo
➡️1000 ICU patients with fluid overload
➡️furosemide infusion vs placebo
➡️1⃣ outcome - days alive & out-of-hospital at day 90
Stay up-to-date with the literature

Joachim Düring defended his phd-thesis “Circulatory Failure and Outcome in Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest” very well at Malmö University Hospital, Lund University. Thanks for being part of the examination committee.
This is the fantastic crew of Scandinavian examiners at the Copenhagen exam site of the European Diploma of Intensive Care (EDIC II).
189 candidates from all over the world were examined online via centers in Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Porto, Prag, Zürich, Stuttgart and Vienna.
Great talks by Mette Brimnes Damholt, Sine Wichmann, Christian Overgaard Steensen and trainees at the SSAI-ICU-diploma training program (SDIC). The second of five Nordic courses are conducted this week in Copenhagen. Today’s subject was acute renal failure and fluid regulation.
It is fantastic to have the 19th SSAI-ICU-diploma training program (SDIC) running after the corona break. The second of five Nordic courses are conducted this week in Copenhagen. Today’s subject is acute liver failure. Great presentations by both faculty and trainees.
