I think it fitting that an everyday American, not a newscaster or state official reads out loud the statement of Alex Pretti’s heartbroken parents at the senseless and brutal murder of their beloved son.

Alex Pretti may have been physically murdered by ICE thugs yesterday, but every American that voted for this, and the 90 million who sat on their hands, today join Trump’s sycophantic enablers, Republican lawmakers and right wing propagandists, who are drenched in the blood of an innocent man exercising his right to the freedom of expression Republicans claim to hold so close to their hearts.

Thanks to Cynthia Nixon for reading out their words in this moment of national and international shame.

May his memory be a blessing and may his name never be forgotten.
