Iβd like to talk about my Dad.
He came to England from India at age 17.
He had a brutal childhood- heβs refused to talk us kids about it but part of his childhood involved living on the streets as a child in India
Coming to England saved his life. Literally.
He has worked - shop keeper, then taxi driver & has contributed to tax his whole life here. He refused to charge people for his taxi service when they visited hospitals, students who felt unsafe walking at night etc. He worked 7 days a week, and we lived month to month.
My Mum, at the age of 64, still works full
time as an insurance broker & has also paid tax her entire working life.
My Dad retired at the age of 70 during the pandemic as he was diagnosed with cancer. Thankfully heβs currently in remission π
As soon as he was given the βall clearβ he could finally pursue his dream - to feed those in need.
At the age of 70 he asked my Mum to teach him how to cook.
Every Tuesday he buys food to feed about 100/200 homeless people a week. He wakes up at 3am every Wednesday to cook the food, package & distribute it with a team of volunteers who also provide them warm clothing, cut their hair etc with nothing but love.
The volunteers are from all backgrounds, all colours, all ethnicities as are the people they serve.
He is the kindest, most compassionate person I know. To have people judge him based on the colour of his skin breaks my heart beyond measure.
@ManCityHelp Hello, I'm going to the women's match on Sunday with my 10 month old daughter - Am I able to bring her changing bag with her bottles etc which is bigger than usual bag guidance? I understand it will need to be searched π
I mean it's pretty awesome if people can afford to go to every home game, every cup game, every play off game and every final but people need to realise it isn't about how many games you attend but how you support your club within your own means.
It's so boring reading tweets making sly digs about people not buying tickets for semi finals but then they'll turn up to the grand final if their club gets there.
Money is tight for so many and people need to prioritise end of.
Constructors Champions of the world!!! π
What an unbelievable season weβre having π I couldnβt be more proud to be part of this @redbullracing π Everyone working on the track and back in the factory, thank you so much. What a rocket ship π
Itβs amazing to achieve this milestone here in Japan π―π΅ Thank you everyone for your amazing support π
RIP to the Hull KR fan who sadly lost their life on the M1 motorway heading down to Wembley to watch their team in a final. It's absolutely heartbreaking. Thoughts are with your family and friends, and as an RL community, we stand together β€οΈ
