Teacher effectiveness is not greatly improved by curriculum, new programs, or initiatives. But, when teachers are respected, valued, supported, & feel like their talents are utilized, then morale increases, job engagement soars, & students benefit too!
It is extremely important for educators to work on their mental & physical health right now. Whether school is in person or virtual, we are dealing with stress that we have never encountered. Take time for yourself daily/weekly - read, walk, rest, spend time with loved ones.
Keys to navigating the times weβre in:
-Be there for those in need
-Empathize w/ those hurting
-Be humble & honor others
-Choose faith over fear
-Love unconditionally
-Guard your heart
-Forgive others
-Seek Truth
-Serve others
...Pretty much the same keys as always!π€
We all struggle with mental health in different capacities β some much more than others. These times have been really hard, though this is a helpful reminder for me approaching the end of Mental Health Awareness Month and continue on (via @BelievePHQ).
How lucky am I to work with such an awesome team?!?! It was so special watching our 2019 WHS graduates walk that stage together last night. I'm not crying, you're crying. π
