Incredibly proud to have won Young Journalist of the Year at the @ScotPressAwards. It may have slightly reignited the fire and reminded me of some of the reasons I loved to write. Thanks for all the kind words & messages, and congratulations to all the other winners and nominees.
Does it sound cheesy? Yes. Does that mean it’s not valuable? No.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed or stressed to the point of burnout then what I offer may just be exactly what you need. If it doesn’t resonate, maybe it’s just not for you ✨ stay tuned if you’re interested
Resurrecting my account after almost 2 years (!) because I suspect some of the people I connected with on here back when I was committed to the grind might be interested in my new work… helping overworked professionals relax so they have more energy to do the things they love✨
I’m doing this as a certified holistic life coach & mind-body practitioner - which just mean I have the training to support clients as they learn more about themselves, their minds & their bodies, and what sustainable changes can get them to the balanced lifestyle they crave
Twitter may be dying but I am (mostly) thriving, here’s the life update I’ve been putting off writing. Quitting my job last year remains one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
@JoshKingWrites@RobertGordonUni A very proud moment to be a Joshua King fan. Looking forward to celebratory drinks in the not too distant future and seeing you drooling over chips, cheese and curry sauce - this time with the prestige of an official conqueror of the law.
@irinacatewilkie @swilks123 So sorry to read this, Irina. What an impact he has had, seeing all the comments here it feels like just about every journalist in Scotland had the pleasure of experiencing his wit, warmth and support. I’ll miss knowing he is in my corner. Sending love.
@irinacatewilkie@TheScotsman@edinburghpaper @swilks123 Thinking of you all, Irina. Stephen was in the editor’s seat on my first day at the EEN & made sure I knew he had my back, even before he really knew me. He supported me just as fiercely when I left & understood the why without question. I owe him more than I can say. Take care.
Great to be named runner-up for Scoop of the Year and Travel Writer of the Year at last night’s @ScotPressAwards but even better to celebrate with these two stars @Beth_Murray_ @daniellatheis ✨
Huge thanks to @palebackwriter, @catmacphee & everyone else involved in the @WIJ_Scotland five year anniversary summit. It was a really special thing to be surrounded by so much female talent and I’m pretty sure we all left feeling excited & inspired, if also slightly starstruck.
Was a lovely surprise to hear today that I’ve been shortlisted for Young Journalist of the year at this year’s @ScotPressAwards. It’s a really positive reminder to be proud of the work I’ve done despite recent changes i’ve made. Huge congratulations to everyone nominated.
@JoshKingWrites@TheScotsman You’re right, I am a star, but then so is everyone else on the team so really you don’t even need me! Thanks for everything, Josh King, I’ll miss you all lots too.
Personal/professional news 🧵- After a year and a half working @TheScotsman I have resigned. It’s where I learned to be a journalist and I’m grateful to everyone who helped me but I wasn’t happy and wanted things the job wasn’t giving me, so I’m taking a break from the industry.
