Over the past 2 years, I have paid more attention to the way handwriting is taught than at any other point in my career. Handwriting seemed a fairly simple thing that pupils would just pick up with a few lessons on letter formation. I was wrong! @AAhmedZA @MrTs_NQTs Definitely choose something that you can use lots of practical resources for. Use whiteboards for the children to write their ideas and get them involved! Check with the school what they’ve got available and go from there.

Gargee'an (قرقيعان) is an eastern Arabian traditional annual festival which takes place on the 15th night of Ramadan.

It is celebrated by children dressing in traditional attire & going door-to-door to receive sweets from neighbours, as they sing traditional songs

@MissVansittart @MrTs_NQTs Have fun with it! The children at this age can do so much more than many people give them credit for. It is a busy time of the year but you can learn so much just by sitting and listening/watching. Also, a good story book goes a long way. Enjoy!

The U.K. clocks go back tonight meaning +1 hour difference to what we already face.

This makes UAE + 4hrs and Qatar +3hrs

The extra hour is so noticeable with trying to keep regular contact with home

The average elementary school teacher hears their name called 100,000-150,000 times in the FIRST HOUR of school.

@earlyyearsexpat If you’re coming to Kuwait, don’t get your heart too set on a rainbow one! We have had issues with the rainbow in my school out there this year, even just the rainbow shape and colours on their own so possibly check with your HOY before you do too much planning on a set theme 💜

@rosiemayhannan @MrTs_NQTs Clarify the level of EAL with the school first! Just because they have 2nd Lang English don’t assume you need to lower the level of vocab, just be aware that you may need to clarify some words used. My EAL class love learning new ‘big’ words!
