Feminist Canadians unite at AOIR. Happy to announce that we now have a contract for our book, Postdigital Teens: Challenging Technology-Facilitated Gender Based Violence on Screens and at Schools, with Oxford University Press. @JessicaRingrose @kaitlynn_mendes
Another incredible #AoIR for the books! Had such a great time connecting with both new and familiar faces. Feeling inspired and excited for the collaborations ahead ✨💡#AOIR2024@JessicaRingrose @Cathy__Baker @MajaBAndreasen1
Fascinating paper about Snapchat looking its affordances and how it can lead to certain risks and harms for young people. For example, they highlight how the quick add function is seen as good way to widen circle of friends but can open them to risks. @Betsymilne_
Another great panel this morning from @JessicaRingrose @kaitlynn_mendes and @Betsymilne_! Particularly love the creative methods for working with young people 🎨 #AoIR2023
@craigh_ and Dr. Fiona O’Rourke presenting their impressive research and toolkit on how young men can become allies in activism against misogyny and gender-based violence! #Men4Change@cambazogluidil@FEELucl@JessicaRingrose @debbieging 🤝
Absolutely incredible work here by @craigh_ and Fiona O'Rourke on how misogyny can be unlearned and how reductive stereotypes of masculinity harm young men. So, so important #Men4Change
What an incredible privilege to co-teach these marvellous sociology students with @RhiFirth … it was our last session in ‘Gender, sexuality & education MA module. Will really miss our weekly dives into #intersectionalfeminism which is the foundation of the course. 🌈💜🏳️⚧️
