Speeding and the sheer volume of road traffic are the two biggest transport issues for residents in Beckenham. So where are all the speed- and traffic-reduction schemes? We're looking hard but struggling to find many!
Lastly, many residents are concerned about speeding, the overall volume of road traffic, the lack of community toilets and air pollution, amongst other things.
Another polluted & congested Saturday on #Beckenham High Street. Limits on through traffic, separated cycle lanes, and making the parking spaces loading zones & blue badge only, would transform the high street at minimal cost. Boroughs across London are doing this - why not here?
Open Meeting on SHORTLANDS – PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE Saturday, 16 November at 10.30am Harris School, bottom of Kingswood Road, marking the 90th Anniversary of Shortlands Residents Assoc. Presented by Mike Ricketts who last night gave excellent talk at RVR meeting. Recommended
@Louep23@London_Cycling@LiveableBromley Agree! I should have repeated the opening of of my earlier post - recognising minor changes doesn't mean approving of the overall state of things: https://t.co/HPgPqv8q2Z
Cycling infrastructure in Beckenham is woeful. Yet, in the spirit of recognising even small improvements, new signage around the Westgate Road bridge makes it clearer for cyclists to safely travel northbound against one-way vehicle traffic @LiveableBromley@bromleycyclists
More recent signage improvements in #Beckenham - this is at the bottom of Foxgrove Road, indicating that cyclists can use the toucan crossing on Southend Road @London_Cycling@LiveableBromley
Although it's now safer to cross Southend Rd, a network of protected lanes is *urgently* needed across Bromley to make cycling a safe and attractive option for everyday travel. The benefits for Bromley residents would be huge - more exercise, dramatically lower transport costs
@figgysfriend@LiveableBromley@bromleycyclists Agree, it's only a marginal improvement to having no signage at all, but nowhere near what we need (a proper network of protected lanes that don't disappear at junctions)

'Worse congestion and longer delays' are entirely the fault of the number of cars on U.K's roads doubling to 41 million in the past 30 years. Nothing to do with the odd cycle lane which is always is always a convenient excuse lazily used to distract from the obvious cause
SELO's first performance of the season is just one day away! We're playing in Dulwich (not Beckenham), and the concert is tomorrow; not Sunday 👍

As a disabled drive & resident of Bromley, I am appled at the lack of consideration given to disabled drivers, in Bromley, in this case Beckenham High Street.
The images show two Blue Badge bays taken over by a construction company. The bays are still in service.
