We’re a few days into the second half of the legislative session. I would be remiss if I didn’t say how grateful I am for my statehouse team. Christian is my Legislative Assistant and together with our wonderful intern, Younique, keeps me on track and helps me take care of my constituents’ needs. Courtney is my Press Secretary and helps me keep my neighbors informed on what is going on. Finally, Moira ably assists me in my capacity as the Ranking Member of the Criminal Code committee.
Any successes I may experience at the Statehouse wouldn’t be possible without this incredible crew. Thank you all for helping me serve the district I love so much.
On a day when we celebrate love, a reminder that we change things not by offering the same hate, finger pointing, & slander; we change things by dedicating ourselves to the work of bridge building that often goes unnoticed until it’s accomplished
Thats love, that’s leadership💞
Indiana cannot let the most vulnerable Hoosiers lose healthcare due to an accounting error. It’s time for the supermajority to correct their problem and provide greater transparency. Instead, they’ve tried to push these families under the rug.

Indiana’s wetlands protect homes and filter groundwater. Instead of protecting them, Republicans are allowing developers to pad their pocketbooks & destroy our most valuable wetlands. It’s time to end their disregard for our environment at the ballot box.

Today the Senate heard SB 52 on second reading. That means it could be changed via amendment. I want to break down what happened clearly -- because it's plainer than ever that this bill is about micromanaging Indianapolis and overturning the local democratic process. [1/8]
Indiana Democrats are fighting back against predatory loans. Capping payday loans under @CareyHamilton1’s House Bill 1171 will protect Hoosiers from bad actors looking to take advantage.

Hoosiers deserve citizen-led ballot initiatives — just like our neighbors. On abortion, cannabis, and more the people are increasingly out of step with the Republican supermajority. Our legislators deserve to know the public’s opinion at the ballot box.

The Fault in Our Stars has been removed from the YA section in the suburbs of Indianapolis and is now considered a "book for adults." This is ludicrous. It is about teenagers and I wrote it for teenagers.
Teenagers are not harmed by reading TFIOS. This is such an embarrassment to the city of @FishersIN.
Before the results, we'd like to express our sincere & utmost respect and gratitude for the candidates who run for office. Proud of this slate and what they stand for and who they are. Thank you.
