Somnath Temple (Gujarat) was looted & demolished several times. It’s been 1000 years since the first attack and 75 years since most recent reconstruction. India Post stamp was issued in May 2026 during event led @PMOIndia

Stamp issued on #RINPAS (Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry & Allied Sciences) 100 years celebration in September last year. @HemantSorenJMM chief minister of Jharkhand state led the dedication.

USPS issued stamps in 22 designs, down from 49 designs at NY 2016. Sign of times to come?

Electrified!

Great stamp art by Sankha Samanta to mark 100 years of railway electrification in India. Stamps issued in Dec 2025 showing Vande Bharat train and 1925 EMU train (Mumbai harbor line). Stamps were presented later at a Jan ‘26 event.

Third in a series!

Stamps in 5 designs were issued in Dec 2025 @PMOIndia on Medicinal Plants. Ashwagandha, Guduchi, Mandukparni, Pippali & Shatavari plants were depicted in souvenir sheet by artist Anuj Kumar.

Other similar stamps issued in 1997 & 2003.

King Suvaran Maran recognized!

India Post stamp issued on Emperor Perumbidugu Mutharaiyar II (born 675 AD) in Dec 2025 by VP of India. Stamp subject was pending for over 3 years. Nice design by Brahm Prakash showing Vijayalaya Choleeswaram temple.

Perarasar Perumbidugu Mutharaiyar (675 AD-745 AD), also known as Suvaran Maran was a king from Thanjavur area in Tamil Nadu, India.

Postal stamp on the historical figure was apparently scheduled for issuance in 2022 but never materialized.

Wonder why?!

Will India Post issue stamps on culture for 20th meeting of the @UNESCO ICH committee meetings? Event being held in Red Fort, New Delhi from 8th Dec.

Nothing was issued for 2024 UNESCO world heritage meeting.

Three missed events!

With all the Indian stamp and coin issuances this year, wonder why no stamps were designed for FIDE chess World Cup, Chhattisgarh 25 years and 150 years of Arya Samaj?

Maybe some these will be eventually released by India Post!

Bhakti movement!

Madhvacharya, 12th century saint, initiated Dvaita philosophy and Krishna Mutt temple in Udupi KA. India postage stamp was issued on 30th Aug in Udupi.

Great to see older cultural icons being honored. Many more are overdue.

With a series of coins/stamps on Jainism, potential also for one on Acharya Jawahar Lal Ji Maharaj (1875 or 1876-1942). Not entirely sure about personality details, or stamp issuance but I’ve seen the gazette notice for coin.

India Post stamp dedicated on Laxmidas Borkar (1925-1999), journalist and Goa freedom activist. Stamp was issued in Margao GA on 17th Aug @Ashok_Gajapathi @dip_goa

Stamp on Goan poet, B. B. Borkar has been proposed since 2011.

Andhra University in Vishakhapatnam will complete 100 years in April 2026. @PemmasaniOnX is from Andhra state and minister in charge for postal service. Will a stamp be issued for the centennial?
