We just lost a Hollywood legend and pioneer today at 93 🕊️

He started as a teenage theater usher and eventually rose to lead two of Hollywood’s most powerful studios. 🕊️

Former Paramount and MGM/UA chief Frank Mancuso Sr. has passed away at 93, leaving behind nearly half a century in the movie business and a career that helped shape some of the biggest films and franchises of the 1980s and 1990s.

Mancuso climbed through the ranks at Paramount before becoming chairman and CEO, later taking the reins at MGM/UA. During those years, the studios under his leadership were connected to an extraordinary run of blockbuster films, long-running franchises and pop-culture staples.

Some of the biggest titles and franchises associated with those eras included:
- Top Gun
- Fatal Attraction
- Ghost
- Crocodile Dundee
- Star Trek
- Indiana Jones
- Friday the 13th
- GoldenEye
- Tomorrow Never Dies

His time at MGM was especially significant for James Bond, helping usher the franchise back onto the big screen with GoldenEye before continuing with Tomorrow Never Dies.

Frank Mancuso was rarely the face audiences saw, but the decisions made in his offices helped determine what millions of people watched in theaters. From showing people to their seats to eventually running the studios behind the movies, his life became a true Hollywood story.

Scream has lost another piece of its history. 🕊️

Actor C.W. Morgan, best remembered as Hank Loomis in Wes Craven’s original Scream, has passed away at 72.

Morgan had limited screen time in Scream, but his character cast a surprisingly long shadow over the franchise. Hank was the father of Billy Loomis, and his affair with Maureen Prescott helped fracture the Loomis family, becoming part of the dark history that ultimately surrounded the original Woodsboro murders. Morgan later returned as Hank in Scream 3.

His other credits included Metro alongside Eddie Murphy, as well as television work earlier in his career.

Sometimes a character only needs a few scenes to become permanently woven into a story. C.W. Morgan became part of Scream’s DNA.
