PSG’s fascinating system.
The right side builds (Hakimi–Doué–Vitinha).
Doué connects between the lines.
Kvaratskhelia as left-sided outlet.
Dembélé floats high and finishes.
Serie A has regressed to rigid structures, reducing dynamism and creating low-event football with excessive goalless draws.
@mostafa_1O examines tactical trends and how traditionalism has reshaped the league's strategic identity completely.

PSG - Arsenal tactical breakdown, I discuss:
- Early goal sets the game state.
- A final defined by risk aversion.
- PSG buildup issues in 1st half (no pinning).
- Enrique switches right to left in the 2nd.
- What went wrong with Arteta’s subs?

I covered the Villarreal-Atletico game for @BetweenThePosts subscribers yesterday (link attached below). Thought to share one of the details that I found interesting from Atletico, who started positively on the ball.
Against Villarreal's 4-4-2 mid-block, Atletico used a 4-2-4/4-3-3 on-ball structure with both fullbacks advanced, providing the wingers with supporting runs. This is the concept of double width. On the right side, Atletico formed a triangle (Baena-Llorente-Simeone) and utilised this side connection to regularly play through Villarreal. Baena was especially crucial in these situations as he'd be free between the lines or attack the space behind Villarreal's backline, depending on the position/action of the near-side center-back.
I haven't followed Atletico's season in-depth, but I thought they had good chemistry from these side connections on Sunday. In the game against Villarreal specifically, I wondered if they could've instilled more rotations within the triangle to really pull apart the defensive block. Since the opposition was strictly defending zonally in the middle third, Atletico had a huge opportunity here, which they didn't capitalise to the fullest extent, in my opinion.
Wonder if this is an area that Simeone (the manager and not the player, of course) can continue to develop at Atletico. They had a lot of the basic movements and rotations spot on. Lacked the little bit extra, in terms of the final action, to create quality chances from open play. Nevertheless, Atletico looked positive, especially in the early period.
Will be interesting to see how Simeone develops their in-possession play next season.

Milan - Cagliari analysis is live. I discuss:
_ Allegri's low-risk, low-reward approach = pressure invited.
- Cagliari show more risks in their 3-5-2 (Adopo run.)
- Milan stuck in the U-shape.
- Gaetano + Esposito connect + Palestra attacks in 2nd half.

My latest for @BetweenThePosts on Lens's maiden Coupe de France win, a fitting reward for a magnificent season... even if Nice were far better than the 3-1 scoreline suggests.

My latest for @BetweenThePosts on Ligue 1’s final day action.
90 minutes that better resembled a shooting gallery than a game of football.

The biggest upset of this weekend's Serie A games was definitely Juventus dropping out of the CL spots.

Veja passo a passo:
