In Thailand, a man who has completed his monkhood is called 'Tid.'
Derived from the word 'Pandita' (บัณฑิต), which means 'the wise one' or 'scholar,' this title honors the spiritual growth and maturity they’ve achieved.

Steps to Leave the Monkhood (Disrobing)
1. Pick a Good Date:
Generally it will be a lucky day that aligns with the person's birth chart.
2. Clean Up: He cleans his living area and helps with temple chores as a final way to make merit before leaving.
3. Ask for Forgiveness: He meets his Preceptor (mentor) with a tray of incense and flowers to say sorry for any mistakes made during his time as a monk.
4. The Chant: Inside the chapel, he says a short prayer in Pali three times, basically saying, "I am now returning to life as a regular person."
5. Change Clothes: He goes to change from his orange robes into simple, clean clothes (usually white).
6. The Blessing: The senior monk gives him a final blessing and some simple rules to live by (the Five Precepts) for a good life.
