I’m proud of everything I’ve achieved alongside @AndyBurnhamGM to deliver for our region.
I’m standing because I want to go further.
To build on what we’ve done and do more.
To take GM forwards. For us.
Wonderful news. 👏🏻
Many congrats to my dear friend @bevcraig who has done incredible work leading our council, and I know she’d lead our city-region in the same way.
I’ll fight to make sure everyone shares in the success Greater Manchester is building - making sure there’s more money in people's pockets, pride in every town centre with a New High Streets Fund, a new generation of council and affordable homes and an expanded Bee Network that freezes fares and that works for all of us. 🐝 🌹
An incredible result for @AndyBurnhamGM - showing what happens when you offer hope of delivering real change. For too long too many have felt left behind or ignored-we’ve shown hope beats grievance & division.
A great night also for @BuryLabour winning their by-election too! 👏🏼
A huge thanks to the people of the Makerfield constituency for your patience and good humour over the last five weeks. My thanks too to the many volunteers who came up to support my campaign. We ran a very positive one and can be proud of it! 🙏🏻
Today marks the launch of the Best of Manchester Awards, celebrating the people whose contribution makes Manchester the city it is.
Hear more about these new awards from Leader of the Council, Cllr Bev Craig:
We’re on a mission to make Manchester the best place to grow up and get on. Incredibly proud to become UNICEF Child Friendly City - putting our young people first.

Together with almost 140 fellow Labour MPs, I have written to the Foreign Secretary to call for a ban on trade with illegal Israeli settlements. Our group includes every Labour select committee chair.
It’s time to be clear that settlements have no viable economic future

82 years ago, on the beaches of Normandy, brave British and Allied forces changed the course of history forever.
We must never forget the service and sacrifice of those courageous men and women.
Our debt to them can never be repaid.
We are sad to hear of the passing of trailblazer Kanya King CBE after a courageous battle with cancer, and pay tribute to her and the incredible legacy she leaves behind.
The Leader of the Council, Cllr Bev Craig has shared her thoughts:
Earlier in the week it was great to share the progress of our Greater Manchester - Australia partnership.. Part of the long term work Andy & I have been leading to bring jobs and investment into Greater Manchester.
We are turning the tide on the housing crisis - Last year we built more council, social and genuinely affordable homes than we’ve done in 25 years.
Every Mancunian deserves a good quality home that they can afford.
We are breaking records for genuinely affordable housing with more built in the last year than at any time since the 1990s.
This is part of our commitment to build at least 10,000 social, Council and genuinely affordable homes up to 2032.
