WATCH | This Honda Fit was spotted travelling along the Chinhoyi–Karoi Road on Wednesday carrying a large water tank and several pipes that were secured with plastic ropes.

The load appeared to block the driver’s rear and side views, making it difficult to see other road users.

WATCH | This Stallion Bus driver was recorded watching a video on his phone while driving at high speed with a bus full of passengers. The bus was travelling along Masvingo Road towards Bulawayo. This is one of the reasons road accidents happen so often when drivers behave like this.

ZiG Notes Hit ATMs Nationwide.

ZiG notes are now available at ATMs across the country following a Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe directive instructing commercial banks to activate their machines and dispense local currency already held in their vaults. The move is set to ease cash shortages, reduce long queues in banking halls, and improve convenience for Zimbabweans.

Banks, including CBZ, have begun rolling out ZiG withdrawals on ZIMSWITCH-enabled ATMs, expanding access to cash beyond banking counters and supporting smooth day-to-day transactions for households, commuters, and businesses. Economists say the step will help normalise use of the ZiG in everyday payments, boost confidence in the currency, and support broader financial sector stability.

Zimbabwe has sharply increased public examination fees, with ZIMSEC raising Ordinary Level charges to US$24 per subject from US$11, and Advanced Level fees to US$48 from US$24, according to Finance Circular Number 2 of 2026.

An O’Level candidate taking nine subjects will now pay US$216, while an A’Level candidate taking three subjects will pay US$144.

Zimbabwe begins the phased rollout of Lenacapavir, a long-acting HIV prevention injection, this month. The drug, administered twice yearly, will first be available in 12 high-priority districts and urban centres.
The initial pilot phase will cover; Harare,
Bulawayo,
Gweru,
Masvingo,
Mutare,
Chitungwiza,
Karoi,
Mazowe,
Tsholotsho, Kwekwe,
Shamva and
Gwanda.
These areas were chosen due to high HIV incidence and strong existing prevention programmes.

Approximately 46,500 people are expected to receive the injection in this first phase, prioritising adolescent girls, young women, sex workers, and other vulnerable groups. This rollout positions Zimbabwe among the first global adopters of this next-generation prevention tool, aiming to address challenges with daily pill adherence and curb new infections.

JUST IN: The United States has seized two “ghost fleet” tanker ships including a Russian-flagged tanker linked to Venezuela following a multi-week long pursuit.

“In two predawn operations today, the Coast Guard conducted back-to-back meticulously coordinated boarding of two “ghost fleet”  tanker ships— one in the North Atlantic Sea and one in international waters near the Caribbean,” Secretary Kristi Noem said.

“Both vessels —the Motor Tanker Bella I and the Motor Taker Sophia—were either last docked in Venezuela or en route to it.”

“One of these tankers, Motor Tanker Bella I, has been trying to evade the Coast Guard for weeks, even changing its flag and painting a new name on the hull while being pursued, in a desperate and failed attempt to escape justice.”
