Scott Presler doesn’t run campaigns or hold office. He organizes. Since April, he has been publicly pressuring Senate Majority Leader John Thune to deliver the SAVE America Act — doing it loudly, on social media, on the ground in states where the base is watching. The South Dakota GOP apparently decided they’d had enough of it.

Presler had a ticket to the SD state GOP convention dinner where Thune and DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin were speaking. He was blocked at the door and told to leave. The man who turned him away explained his reasoning on camera, while Presler was livestreaming to Facebook:

John Thune controls the Senate floor schedule. The SAVE America Act — backed by the president and the MAGA base — has been stuck in that legislative limbo. Presler’s entire operation is built on 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 when they stall the agenda the base voted for. A Thune event staffer ejecting him on a Facebook livestream is the kind of moment that travels.

The establishment GOP has a long history of treating the grassroots as a constituency to be managed rather than a coalition to be served. The crowd that voted for Trump twice doesn’t forget which senators made them wait.

RIP. Oklahoma Deputy Sheriff Thomas "Walker" LeMay was murdered when he was shot and killed during a welfare check in Wister, at a home off of Highway 270 at approximately 11:00 a.m.

On April 19, officers from the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office, the Wister Police Department, and the U.S. Forestry Department, were called to assist with a welfare check at a residence. Upon arrival they were met with gunfire; when the officers returned fire the suspect retreated into the residence and barricaded himself inside. During the exchange of gunfire, Deputy Sheriff LeMay and a Wister police officer were struck, and Deputy Sheriff LeMay was pronounced dead at the scene.

After several hours, and the response of additional agencies including the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the suspect surrendered and was treated for minor injuries, then taken into custody.

The Wister officer was moved to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Deputy LeMay was a true servant of the people, he is survived by his parents, brother, and a baby girl.
