We know it's best for students to learn in-person. As a community, let's do our part to help keep schools open. Get vaccinated, boosted and wear a mask. Thanks to the hard-working folks at @NKCSchools as they navigate this challenging time.
In 7 years in the legislature, last night was as disheartened as I’ve ever felt. The Senate Appropriations Committee, on which I sit, refused to fund Medicaid expansion—enshrined by voters into the MO Constitution. People deserve better than having their will ignored by electeds.
Our country is committed to preserving white male hegemony. That’s what this was.
Holding people in power accountable for harm would signal a shift away from that preservation of untouchable invisible identity - too many people benefit from it so we won’t. #impeachment
Wooow. A super bowl commercial talking about “meeting in the middle.” We absolutely don’t need the middle right now. The middle is a place of privilege. Justice takes sides.
Money doesn’t solve everything ... EXCEPT when it literally does. That argument is so disingenuous. So many of the issues in this world are because of a lack of access to resources.
Housing, food, healthcare, transportation, education, etc. all get easier with money.
Imagine being a policymaker in Washington, having witnessed the massive economic, social, and health destruction over the last year, and think that the greatest policy risk we face is providing *too much* relief.
Sounds silly, right?
$1.9T should be a floor, not a ceiling.
It’s not just the Capitol:
Folks tried to run the Biden/Harris bus off the road in Texas.
In Michigan, people tried to kidnap the governor.
In Oregon, they stormed the legislature guns drawn.
White supremacy is our greatest threat and we must face it head-on.
