In Call of Duty: Black Ops III, cybernetically enhanced soldiers are experimented on by the CIA when their collective trauma creates Corvus, an egregore that becomes a sentient AI. Interestingly, Corvus means crow in Latin. And a crow is also known as a corvid.

This obviously sounds like Covid. The covid pandemic was a source of collective trauma. But it was also the driving force behind AI. So, maybe this game is more symbolic than it appears at first glance. It’s also interesting to note that plague doctors wore crow masks!
