@Dyoung41290832 @johnsweeneyroar@snp Concessions were not enough. They could have offered more - for instance the ability to restrict immigration from EU for a limited period. We'd have never have implemented it, but the idea of being in control would have appeased many.
@afneil But who were making these decisions. Surely we can expect civil servants to develop and apply policies that prevent this. The government scandal is the lack of transparency.
@ArchRose90@ZiaYusufUK Anyone attacking police officers should expect to be dealt with severely. While disappointing the jury decided to acquit in the Colston statute case, we must accept that. The alternative is worse. While it exists, this is not an example of two tier justice by the state.
@Bikery1966 If you can afford a car, and a phone, you should be able to afford a car kit if the car doesn’t come fitted with bluetooth. The use of mobiles while driving is highly dangerous.
@TheMrLoophole And its not just e-bikes. E-scooters being sold openly in major retailers, but for “off-road“ use only. I’d get one, but as a law abiding citizen I would stop if the police asked me to and be charged. For everyone else it’s do what you want. 2 tier enforcement.
@TheMrLoophole Spot on regarding the lack of practical regulation of the sellers of these bikes. There are also practical enforcement issues. Wearing a bandana does seem to make one immune from arrest. I must get one.
@FraserNelson I rather suspect its more complex than a simple graph of immigration vs general crime rates. Also when I see @DeborahMeaden has retweeted, it feels like it has been community noted, so treat with caution.
@DanNeidle We also need to accept that the office/shop requirements in town and city centres have changed and we need to convert some to residential to bring people back.
@Lockolike@Humberbeat Smarter solutions required. Some sort of drone, that either sprays rider with obnoxious liquid (Skunk Drone) to identify later or disables the bike e.g. puncture the tyres.
@ediz1975 You know when you are on the motorway and there are cars weaving, undertaking and speeding through the traffic. This is the same, just bikes. Not even wearing a helmet, not that there seems much to protect.
It’s 27 years to the day since Paul Scholes’ crazy red card against Sweden.
Here he gets away with a horrendous challenge on Hakan Mild in the opening minute, before two rash tackles on Stefan Schwarz seal his fate.
Extraordinary scenes at Wembley.
@AndyBurnhamGM Sorry we do have two tier policing in Manchester. We have two crime incidents outside our house, witnesses, pictures and no police action taken because the perpetrators ran off. All my dealings with GMP cause me to despair.
@TimesRadio@afneil@KateEMcCann Not just Reform. @Keir_Starmer keen to talk about it to distract from everything else. @KemiBadenoch wanting to be seen prime ministerial. They are all at it. The proper response at this time is to condemn the violence and await the outcome of the inquest and investigation.
@Bikery1966@cupcake7166@hates_usa Funny how you've not engaged with the above point, nor actually what I said in my first post. You need to pay more attention and not just on the road.
@paullewismoney Is it just me, or does anyone else think you are deliberately (or out of ignorance) missing the point completely?
The right question is how to create a growing economy, with more opportunity for people, so tax take goes up and we have more to spend on those with genuine need.
@Bikery1966@cupcake7166@hates_usa A driver must overtake safely or wait.
But HWC says users should be considerate.
If there is safe room to move left, and create more space, then deliberately not doing so is not considerate road use.
That's why I say, one pic doesn't tell us what we need to know.
