ZAMBIA • DAY 3 RECAP 🇿🇲✨
Wakakosha Experience (Kafue, 17–19 Nov 2025)
“What I learned is that some of the stigma I carry comes from within… and I need to start unlearning that and valuing myself more.” 💛 - Participant,
#Wakakosha#Day3Recap#Zambia2025
Day Four of Cohort 8 of the ARJA short course centered the well-being of advocates and the communities they serve. Dr. Odokonyero Raymond led participants through the importance of integrating mental health and psychosocial care into advocacy practice, emphasizing that clarity, compassion, and resilience are strengthened when mental health is intentionally supported.
The day also featured Dr. Nadine Ferris France, who drew from her work with @BeyondStigma_ to explore community-rooted strategies for ending HIV stigma and criminalization. Her reflections underscored the power of dignity, lived experience, and people-centered approaches in sustaining long-term advocacy efforts. #AhakiforAfrica

It's World Mental Health Day 2025! The theme this year is incredibly relevant: managing overwhelm. 💖
We asked our team what they do when they feel overwhelmed, and their answers are inspiring!
What do YOU do to cope when the world feels like a little too much?
