Delighted that our #COP26House has been longlisted in the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP) Awards 2022 in the Initiatives Category. Winners announced in February.

HIDDEN HEROES
Every detail in #COP26House was consciously chosen - and not least the fixings made by @Rothoblaas_UK . They focus not just on design and quality, but also reversability - for easy deconstruction at end of life.

Life in a net zero home looks good from here 😍 The COP House by @BeyondZeroHome built from wood sourced in Scotland uses a process that captures sunlight and body warmth meaning very little additional heating will be required 👏🏚️

we agree @zerocarbonhouse - and that's exactly why we built the zero carbon #cop26house, to demonstrate that it can be done using standard materials and readily available skills. There's no excuse!
Great to see the #COP26 House getting a well deserved push on @BBCScotlandNews. Well done everyone who worked on the @BeyondZeroHome project. It shows what superb innovative building with timber can achieve in reaching #NetZero. https://t.co/lKYyynZfcb
We were delighted to host Robert Llewellyn @bobbyllew at the #COP26House a couple of days ago to film their special COP26 edition of the Fully Charged Show:

Great to welcome @patrickharvie to the zero carbon #COP26 House. He met @bswtimber's @HamishMacleod1, architect Peter Smith from @RJA_LLP & @scotforestry to highlight the need to use more timber in construction as it's the best low carbon material around! 🌳🌲
The built environment is taking centre stage at #COP26 today. If the conversations we've had in the #COP26House this week are anything to go by, there seems to be real momentum behind positive change in the sector.

It was great to have the opportunity to show Scottish Government minister @MairiGougeon around the COP26 House, and show her what was possible right now using standard materials and existing skills. #ZeroCarbon#homegrowntimber
Scottish Government minister @MairiGougeon joined Confor CEO @stugood3 on a visit to the Zero Carbon Home at #COP26 to understand more about the enormous potential of building with home-grown wood. https://t.co/PxIRClMa56

"We need multidisciplinary activists; we need holistic knowledge sets. It’s not just academia and the professions but the product manufacturers, the supply chain, people studying computing. It's about linking it all together," says @rhairstans https://t.co/rPp1SzyzW8
One of the most common questions we’ve had from visitors to the COP26 House over the past week has been how the infrared heaters work. Here Sam Abel from @herschel_ir explains all, and why they were the ideal choice for the house:

We welcomed primary 7 pupils from @HolyCrossPri to @beyondzerohome's #COP26House this morning for a fantastic discussion about how the way we build, heat & power homes can help us to meet global climate change ambitions. #COP26
The fight for the planet isn't just happening in Glasgow at #COP26
We asked three experts how you can save the planet from the comfort of your own home 🏠♻️

A Gift to Glasgow. We are delighted to be involved in this incredible project - The Hope Sculpture - which has now been unveiled in Glasgow to highlight the scale of the climate emergency and the need to work together for future generations. @RobertsonGroup
If you aren't able to get to Glasgow to see the COP26 House in person, here's the next best thing: take a video tour or you can walk through the house using the 360 degree tour https://t.co/k3AFfJK2u7 @RJA_LLP @urbanunionltd
People have been telling @MattStevens0n of @EcosystemsT and @rhairstans of @nmite_ac that UK homegrown timber homes isn't possible.
"We can do it and now we have to do it because we're in the middle of a climate crisis."
Do you feel calmer when in a space created using natural materials? A number of studies have shown that the health benefits are significant.
It's just one of the reasons why we made the #COP26House out of timber - read more here: https://t.co/Z4uGaiA8YU
@HSmithArchitect Unfortunately whilst our house is obviously built to withstand all weathers, we're surrounded by temporary structures which have different tolerances. We'll be publishing a video tour through the house in the next few days.
Unfortunately due to the extremely high winds that are expected this weekend, the Sustainable Glasgow Landing site - where the COP26 House is located - won't be open this weekend. Sorry to disappoint anyone planning to visit tomorrow or Sunday - we'll be open again on Monday 9am
