š” Cutting the fog of Kali-yuga with the sword of pure Vedic Knowledge from Bonafide ÅÄstra. Your every doubt dies here. Cows š¤ 2nd fortress: @SaintlyKing108
This country of animal-eaters have no compassion. How can they? Their heart is already hardened by daily sl@ughter of innocent creatures. When a man k!lls a cow, a goat, or a chicken simply to satisfy his tongue, the seed of daya is extinguished. Then he cannot even allow a man to see his dying mother. This is the natural result.
The ÅÄstra is very clear: those who live by violence toward the weaker living beings lose all finer sentiments. They become like jackals and vultures. You cannot expect a vulture civilization to show mercy to a mother who only wanted to see her son one last time. That is not their nature.
Kį¹į¹£į¹a Himself says in the Bhagavad-gÄ«tÄ: patraį¹ puį¹£paį¹ phalaį¹ toyaį¹ yo me bhaktyÄ prayacchati.
āIf one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.ā The Lord does not ask for meat. Therefore a real Vaiį¹£į¹ava takes only kį¹į¹£į¹a-prasÄdam. One who cooks for his own tongue, whether vegetable or flesh, is simply eating sin.
It is stated, 'vinÄ paÅughnÄt' ā only the animal-killer remains aloof from hearing the glories of the Lord. Meat-eating makes the heart hard. How then can one develop love for NÄrÄyaį¹a, who is the father of all living entities, including that wild boar?
Yes, in Vedic times the kį¹£atriyas were permitted to hunt ferocious animals in the forest ā not rabbits or innocent creatures, but tigers, lions, wild boar ā so that they could practice the art of killing when required for protecting the citizens. That was training, not daily menu. And even then they were not freed from sinful reaction. A Vaiį¹£į¹ava kį¹£atriya like MahÄrÄja Rantideva never ate meat. In this Kali-yuga almost no one is a genuine kį¹£atriya; everyone is simply following the whims of the tongue.
A staunch Vaiį¹£į¹ava, even if born in a RÄjpÅ«t family, will give up these anarthas. He will not kill even an ant, what to speak of hunting for the belly. First become actually Vaiį¹£į¹ava by following the four regulative principles ā no meat-eating, no intoxication, no illicit sex, no gambling ā then your praising of Lord NÄrÄyaį¹a will have meaning. Otherwise it is simply a show.
Lord Buddha is Himself an incarnation of KrsnaākeÅava dhį¹ta-buddha-ÅarÄ«ra jaya jagadÄ«Åa hare. He appeared in Gaya exactly as predicted in ÅrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam (1.3.24) to bewilder the atheists who were misusing the Vedas to slaughter animals. For that purpose He outwardly rejected Vedic authority and preached ahiį¹sÄ. Under Emperor AÅoka the whole of India temporarily followed Him. But because Buddhism denied the Vedas and the Personality of Godhead, it could not remain. Åaį¹ karÄcÄrya later drove it beyond the borders of India and re-established Vedic authority.
The word āHinduā itself is a Muhammadan invention; it does not appear in any ÅÄstra. The eternal occupation of this land is sanÄtana-dharma, varį¹ÄÅrama-dharma, given by Kį¹į¹£į¹a Himself: cÄtur-varį¹yaį¹ mayÄ sį¹į¹£į¹am. Kį¹į¹£į¹a appeared here, RÄma appeared here, Caitanya MahÄprabhu appeared here. That is the real root of BhÄrata-varį¹£a, not a temporary Buddhist phase.
If you want to understand Indiaās actual culture, chant Hare Kį¹į¹£į¹a and study Bhagavad-gÄ«tÄ As It Is. Everything else is mÄyÄ.
At only five years of age, this determined boy, Dhruva, left the palace, took shelter of Narada Muni, and began worshiping the Supreme Personality of Godhead in Madhuvana. Month by month he reduced his intakeāfirst fruits, then dry leaves, then only water, then only airāuntil in the fifth month he stood motionless on one leg like a stone pillar, having completely mastered his breath and fixed his mind on the Lord.
Then, by closing all the apertures of his body and fully absorbing himself in the Supreme, Dhruva became so identified with the total energy that the universal breathing process itself was obstructed. The devtas felt suffocated and rushed to Lord Vishnu for protection.
The Lord reassured them:
āMy dear demigods, do not be perturbed. It is due to the severe austerity and full determination of the son of King Uttanapada, who is now fully absorbed in thought of Me. He has obstructed the universal breathing process.ā (ÅrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam 4.8.82)
See the power of one-pointed devotion! A small child, by following the instructions of his spiritual master and concentrating his mind on Kį¹į¹£į¹a, could disturb the entire cosmos. This is not mere physical austerity; it is the potency of bhakti.

Condition of Hindus in Bangladesh
A dying motherās final wish was simply to see her son one last time. Chinmoy Krishna Das was denied even that, and was granted only five hours of parole after her death to perform her last rites.
This 'Ashtavakra Gita' is dangerous because it is MÄyÄvÄda philosophy dressed in Vedic language. Caitanya MahÄprabhu has warned: "mÄyÄvÄdi-bhÄį¹£ya Åunile haya sarva-nÄÅa" ā if one hears the commentary of the impersonalists, everything is finished. Oneās spiritual life is ruined.
Yes, you are not this body. That much is correct. Kį¹į¹£į¹a Himself says in Bhagavad-gÄ«tÄ: "na tv evÄhaį¹ jÄtu nÄsaį¹" ā never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings. The soul is eternal. But the MÄyÄvÄdÄ« stops there and says, āTherefore I am God. I am already liberated. Nothing to do. The world is illusion. Even devotion is a chain.ā This is cheating.
If everything is already perfect and you are already Brahman, why did Ashtavakra have to speak at all? Why did Janaka have to listen? Why are you still reading books and feeling āawe-struckā? The very fact that you feel hunger, that you feel imprisonment, that you keep coming back to the text, proves you are not already free. You are a conditioned soul covered by mÄyÄ.
Liberation does not mean becoming one with an impersonal light and disappearing. That is spiritual suicide. Real liberation is to revive your forgotten relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, ÅrÄ« Kį¹į¹£į¹a, and serve Him with love. That service is Änanda, bliss ā not ātasteless.ā
Do not be fascinated by words that sound profound but leave you empty. The Absolute Truth is not a void. He is a person. He has form, qualities, pastimes, and He is waiting for you in the spiritual world.
Some books are so f**king dangerous, reading them breaks your core beliefs of hinduism.
Iām awe-struck. Ashtavakra Gita is that kind of text. No linear story. No comfort. No gradual gyaan or generational wisdom. A dark sadhu, and when i say dark, like really gruesome & cunning looks at a king and strips him of every identity he thought he needed. His conversations & reasoning with the king are so brutal. You are not the body. You are not the mind. You are not the performance of being good. You were already free. You just chained yourself to sit still long enough to enjoy your imprisonment.
I keep coming back to it after reading philosophy, contemporary fiction, literature books. After the hunger to improve. This one does not flatter that hunger. It makes the hunger look slightly absurd & f**king nothing. Tasteless.
Maybe thatās why it feels close.
Is it the same for you?
@viryavaan You are in jail because of your own criminal activities. Stop doing criminal activities and you will be free/liberated. That's why scriptures talk about liberation. Otherwise, what was the need if you are already free.

The ÅÄstra clearly states:
yad advaitaį¹ brahmopaniį¹£adi tad apy asya tanu-bhÄ
ya ÄtmÄntaryÄmÄ« puruį¹£a iti so āsya aį¹Åa-vibhavaįø„
į¹£aįø-aiÅvaryaiįø„ pÅ«rį¹aįø„ ya bhagavÄn iha sa svayam ayaį¹
What the Upaniį¹£ads call the impersonal Brahman is only the bodily effulgence of Kį¹į¹£į¹a, just as sunshine is the effulgence of the sun. The localized ParamÄtmÄ is His plenary portion. The complete Absolute Truth is BhagavÄn, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, ÅrÄ« Kį¹į¹£į¹a Himself.
The living entity is one with Kį¹į¹£į¹a in qualityāboth are sat-cit-Änandaābut different in quantity. A drop of ocean water has the same chemical composition as the ocean, yet the drop can never become the ocean.
Those who stop at the impersonal ācoreā remain in the sunshine and never enter the sun planet. They fear personality because they think personality means material limitation. Therefore they want to merge and lose their identity. That is not liberation; that is spiritual suicide.
Real Advaita is to see Kį¹į¹£į¹a everywhere and yet remain His eternal servant (dÄs). Then the flickering pictures will vanish and the eternal form of the Lord will appear before you. That is the actual core.
Lord is not tyrant. You are perceiving him like that because you don't want to follow dharma.
Just like some people consider our PM to be tyrant, because they don't want to follow the value system he wants to reinstate.
Following dharma doesn't enslave you, it liberates you from the cycle of birth and death. Living entities are themselves responsible for their sufferings. For example: you sl@ughter poor animals (who are also children of God) for your taste, and when the reaction of this karma comes, you cry and blame God for it. When he told you to follow dharma, you ignored and now, you are blaming him. What is this?
Just like in a family, a father won't tolerate that one child exploits his other kids. He punishs him for his wrong doings, not to torture him but to correct him.
He is omnipresent, through his unlimited energies, but you are not able to perceive because of your ignorance. This is why you got trap in Mayawad.
To perceive him every where, one needs to practice devotional service. And then you will qualified to see him face to face here as well as to enter the spiritual world.
