Today @IITKgp Director Suman Chakraborty gave a heartiest welcome to Padma Shri Kartik Maharaj. 🚩

After decades of hate speech & calling late Gandhi a national disgrace, Kartik Maharaj was awarded the Padma Shri in Jan 2025.

In 2025 a woman accused him of raping her on the pretext of offering a permanent job for long time continued since 2013.

She also accused him of forcing her to undergo an operation.

Though an FIR was lodged, the Calcutta HC orally instructed the state government not to take any coercive steps against Kartik Maharaj.

Point to be noted : after this incident the parents of that woman spoke to @SangbadPratidin. That interview is available on YouTube - in Bengali language.

In that interview, the father told the news channel that he had disowned his daughter after she left with Kartik Maharaj.

From the conversation, it was also revealed that the father of that woman himself is an Ashramite (possible - because he was again and again saying 'my Ashram' in that interview) and has been a BJP supporter since the 1980s.

Anyway, I hope the IIT students had a great learning session with Maharaj today...
