Yes, those photos you’ve seen are real.
More than 18 years ago, a baby named Lamine Yamal and his mom Sheila met Lionel Messi at a UNICEF fundraising photoshoot.
Today, their achievements on the pitch inspire millions. Off the pitch, both Messi and Lamine Yamal use their voices and platforms as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors to support and advocate for children around the world.
The goal? That every child survives, thrives, and fulfils their potential.
We are proud to have them on our team.

Disconnect between Spirit and Nature: yet they are the same thing. Ive noticed after 30 years of being in India and Nepal……the disconnect from God and Nature is immense. Indians are so spiritual, and the worst polluters on earth. India is a huge trash pile. I see cars with Ganesh and Shiva stickers on them, throwing plastic bottles out the window. Huge disconnect.
HHHUUUGGGEEEEE!
I was coming down from Muktinath yesterday, one of the holiest places on Earth for Hindus, and cars full of Indians throwing trash out the window. I finally had to stop and say “pick that plastic bottle up that you just threw into the river”. The Indians looked so surprised, then shocked, then angry. Why?
Most architects design vernacular buildings for clients and go home to something entirely different themselves, an imported aesthetic disconnected from the climate it sits in. The philosophy stays a pitch, not a practice.
Himanshu Patel didn’t do that. Tribhuvana is his own architecture studio, the workspace he actually shows up to every day, built in Khanderaopura village near Ahmedabad, Gujarat. d6thD Design Studio. 2,691 sq ft. Completed 2022.
It is built the same way he designs for clients, vernacular material, local form, detail drawn from the village around it rather than imposed on it. He didn’t build a monument to the idea and go live somewhere else. He built the argument and put himself inside it.
An architect who believes his own philosophy enough to inhabit it isn’t selling an idea. He’s demonstrating one.

Slice of my Life: Morning spin around the Chorten at 11,000 feet, and on my way back down from Muktinath.
It’s always good to stop, and give some time away to the good things in life.

Nepal.
It was an honor to meet Nepal’s Prime Minister @ShahBalen and congratulate him on the strong mandate he has received.
I affirmed ADB’s strong commitment to supporting his ambitious reforms towards economic transformation, job creation, and investment. ADB is stepping up as Nepal’s largest development partner, with additional support of $2.4 billion through 2029 to help translate the Prime Minister’s vision into results on the ground.
For 60 years, Nepal and ADB have worked together through hardship, recovery, and progress, delivering safer schools, cleaner energy, stronger infrastructure, and better opportunities.
I look forward to working closely with the Prime Minister and his government to deliver tangible and lasting progress for the people of Nepal.

Arrived in Kathmandu at a pivotal moment for Nepal.
The country has shown remarkable resilience through repeated shocks and periods of major change. As Nepal's largest development partner, with an active portfolio of $3.9 billion, we will support Nepal in turning that resilience into sustained progress, creating more opportunity and building the foundations for long-term growth.
As Nepal’s new government sets out its priorities, I look forward to listening, learning, and discussing how ADB can support the country’s next chapter, building on six decades of partnership.
Family Pooja (Ceremony) in the Hills of Nepal :
My Dear friend Netra and wife Tara, made a family Pooja to bring all their family together in love and prayers. This is what that looks like, in the Hindu hills of Nepal.
As I have mentioned previously, the villages of Nepal are in a red alert death spiral, and I’m not certain they will last even another generation. They are dying that fast. Netra, the father and leader of his family, saw this clearly, and made this Pooja happen even when he couldn’t afford it. He made it happen because he knew the way of life that has “always been”, will “no longer be”. It was true, he was right, within months of this ceremony, 2 of these people moved to England, never to return. One of them moved to Scotland, and left their child behind, and will never return. 2 of them were divorced (which is the history of Nepal is very uncommon, but getting more common by the day) and their child now living with the grandparents. The family literally exploded.
Now…..my friend Netra and his wife are old, living the hard life of the hills…..alone. Trying to feed their animals, trying to plow, trying to raise their grandchildren…..with old and weathered bodies, and no youth to be seen helping. The death of a village….of a culture…..of ancient wisdom. Lineage broken.
This is reality.

Media outlets in Nepal have been reporting about my recent visit to PMO in various forms and manners. I would like to underline that neither I personally nor the German Embassy have had any exchanges with journalists on this and have not authorised any publication in this respect
Had a productive meeting with the Chairman of Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party, Mr. @hamrorabi, to discuss strengthening the United States-Nepal partnership. The United States values its friendship with Nepal and remains committed to working together on shared priorities that support prosperity and opportunity for both our nations.
It was indeed a great delight to engage in such a productive hour-long conversation with Hon. PM @narendramodi today. I share your vision for a future where Nepal and India transcend past constraints to embrace a new era of development diplomacy. By focusing on shared civilizational bonds, digital corridors, and seamless connectivity, we can truly build a partnership defined by progress and mutual trust. RSP looks forward to translating these possibilities into reality for people of Nepal and India - for our shared prosperity.
