कॅमेरे व्यवस्थित लावून साधेपणा आणि त्यागाचा दिखावा करणाऱ्या सरकारमधील लोकांना पाहून आश्चर्य वाटतं.

त्यांच्याच अपयशी धोरणांमुळे देशाची अर्थव्यवस्था रसातळाला पोहोचली आहे, ह्याची पूर्ण जाणीव असतानाही निवडणुकांच्या प्रचारासाठी आणि दौऱ्यांसाठी हजारो कोटी रुपये खर्च करायचे आणि दुसऱ्या बाजूला जनतेसमोर त्यागाचं नाटक करायचं, हीच खरी दुटप्पी भूमिका आहे.

आज भारतासमोर उभं असलेलं आर्थिक संकट केवळ मध्यपूर्वेतील युद्धामुळे नाही, तर गेल्या १२ वर्षांतील अपयशी आर्थिक धोरणांचा परिणाम आहे.

देशातील लाखो तरुण बेरोजगार आहेत, नोकऱ्यांसाठी भटकत आहेत, दारिद्र्य रेषेखालील आकडे कमी झाल्याचं खोटं चित्र दाखवलं जात आहे. अशा परिस्थितीत जनतेला त्यागाचे उपदेश देण्यापेक्षा सरकारने स्वतःची जबाबदारी स्वीकारून पारदर्शकपणे सांगावं की भारतीयांसाठी नेमकं काय केलं जात आहे!

भाजपची एक खासियत आहे... त्यांचे 'अंधभक्त' त्यांच्या नेत्यावर कधीच टीका करत नाहीत. अगदी त्यांचे सर्वोच्च नेते आमंत्रण नसताना थेट नवाज शरीफच्या वाढदिवसाचा केक खायला पाकिस्तानात गेले, तरीही हे मूग गिळून गप्प!
एखाद्याच्या मुलीसोबत काय शत्रुत्व? तिला वाढदिवसाला शुभाशिर्वाद देण्यात काय गैर?? आणि मुळात हा मुद्दा तरी आहे का चर्चेसारखा???
आंतरराष्ट्रीय धोरणांपासून ते आपल्या रोजच्या जगण्यातील अनेक गंभीर प्रश्नांपर्यंत हजारो मुद्दे आहेत ज्यावर आपण बोललं पाहिजे, प्रश्न विचारले पाहिजेत.
भाजपची ही जुनीच खेळी आहे - मूळ प्रश्नांवरून लक्ष हटवण्यासाठी दुर्लक्षणीय, क्षुल्लक मुद्द्यांना मुद्दाम हवा देणे. त्यांच्या या प्रपोगंडाचे बाहुले होऊ नका. सत्य ओळखा आणि खऱ्या मुद्द्यांवर व्यक्त व्हा!

Which sensible, forward looking government indulges in plastering any modern day global city which shabby hoardings to welcome leaders of other countries?

This behaviour means that those in government need some serious counselling in civic sense, maintaining aesthetics and not getting over excited as if we’ve never seen foreign visits before.

Even the coastal road hasn’t been spared by this really silly behaviour of the regime- I thought the CM- who has travelled globally- would have atleast instructed better.

Lay the red carpet, ensure the best comfort, charm them but not with this really over excited, shabby posters and banners.

For any other citizen, it’s a working visit, that should be a non event with minimal disruption- like it is in any other city around the world.

नवनिर्वाचित महापौरांना आता एकच प्रश्न सतावतोय बांगलादेशी घुसखोरांचा! चांगलं आहे पण मुंबईतील नागरी प्रश्नांकडे मात्र त्यांचे दुर्लक्ष होतेय; खोदून ठेवलेले रस्ते, न उचलला जाणारा कचरा, पादचारी मार्गांची दुरवस्था, मोकळ्या जागांवरील बांधकाम व्यावसायिकांचे अतिक्रमण, प्रदूषित पाणी आणि हवा…

बरं, पण हा विषय केंद्र आणि राज्य गृह मंत्रालयाच्या अखत्यारित येतो. कदाचित महापौरांना वाटत असेल ही खाती आपल्याकडेच आहेत!

भाजपने ह्या महत्त्वाच्या प्रश्नांची उत्तरे द्यावीत:

जर हे खरे असेल, तर बांगलादेशी भारतात बेकायदेशीरपणे कसे घुसले?

ते भारताच्या एका टोकापासून भाजपशासित राज्यांतून मजलदरमजल करीत मुंबईत कसे काय येऊ शकले?

इतकी वर्षे ते इथे कसे काय राहिले? केंद्रात तर दशकभरापासून भाजपचे सरकार आहे!

ह्या राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षेतील अपयशासाठी जबाबदार कोण? गुप्तचर यंत्रणेचे अपयश? की प्रशासकीय अपयश?
उत्तर एकच, भाजप!
जे प्रत्येक निवडणुकीत सांगतात कि ते POK घेणार, ते आता बांगलादेशी घुसले कसे ह्याचे उत्तर देऊ शकत नाही. पण प्रत्येक अपयशाचा इव्हेन्ट कसा करायचा, हे ह्या भाजपकडून शिकायचे!

जर मोठ्या संख्येने बांगलादेशी घुसखोर शिरले असतील, तर त्यांना रोखण्यात, ओळखण्यात आणि देशाबाहेर पाठवण्यात अपयश आले; हे केंद्र व राज्य सरकारने का लपवले?

ह्यातून एकच सिद्ध होते की राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षेबाबत केंद्रातील भाजप सरकार पूर्णपणे अपयशी ठरले आहे!

The BJP’s Union Government of India:

The government needs to answer and bring clarity on the deal! Do a press conference and take real questions, not curated ones.

Why is GIFT city exempt while others are not?

This Union budget shows how disconnected the Union government is from market realities and how much hate it has for Mumbai.

In a year which has such a volatile market environment, sky high inflation and rupee depreciation, this selfish Union government has decided to raise STT. This clearly adds to an already burdened investor and only helps raise revenue for the government at our cost.

Further, India’s financial capital is home to major exchanges and maximum capital market transactions, institutional and retail participation and trading activity happens here.
Higher STT directly hurts trading, discourages participation and hence curbs jobs and financial growth in Mumbai.

Conveniently, the same trades remain STT exempt in GIFT City.

This is a blatant attempt to further snatch away Mumbai’s significance and financial leadership and move it to GIFT.
Shockingly, same country, same investor but different taxation incentivising movement of liquidity to GIFT, from Mumbai intentionally.

Instead of giving IFSC to Mumbai and other metro cities, the union government “gifts” Mumbai pure bias and hate!

The key point being why is GIFT city exempt from this STT and the hike?

Yes it’s a Union Budget and we’re supposed to be speaking of the entire nation.
But the nation is made up of states, and in the last decade, the bjp has changed the rules.

Maharashtra, the largest contributor to the union govt’s treasury, is not even an afterthought.
Be it GDP, GST, Income Tax, we’re the largest contributors.. and proportionally most ignored!

• About the Mumbai- Pune High Speed Railway, does it mean bullet train?
Vande Bharat? An increase in speed for the current ones? What’s the timeline? Fully funded by GoI or does it have GoM contribution?

• ⁠To speak about urbanisation with approximate 5000 crores after wrapping up a failed Smart City program (over a decade), with no clarity, is a big joke!
It will be about identifying City Economic Regions in tier 2 and 3 cities… beyond which, everything is vague!

• There is no real backing to climate action for a country that is so vulnerable to climate change related trouble- be it for our rural, or urban areas… for economy- industry and agriculture alike. The Government is clueless and vision-less on Climate Action.

• ⁠The finance minister seems to have either forgotten or successfully eradicated the 4 castes she had identified in 2024- Women, Farmers, Youth and Poor/ needy.

• ⁠There’s nothing concrete to create meaningful employment. Yes, data centers are good but they dont create jobs. We need concrete steps for protecting and increasing jobs.

• ⁠The FM has conveniently ignored to instil any confidence in citizens over the economic instability over geopolitics and the falling rupee that her party once caused national chaos over.

If this was to be a budget for all of India truly, one of the demands that I’ve constantly made could have still been accepted- an International Financial Services Centre for Mumbai… and may be also for Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi…
Growth would be truly national, and natural, unlike the failed GIFT. But then, thinking beyond elections would be truly a gift for India!

दादांसोबत गेले ५–६ वर्षं काम करण्याची संधी मिळाली… पहिलं सरकारमध्ये आणि नंतर काही दिवस विरोधी पक्षात. त्यांची विधिमंडळ कारभारावर असलेली रुबाबदार पकड आणि प्रेमळ स्वभाव हा आमच्यासारख्या अनेकांना आवडायचा. मी हे विरोधी पक्षात असताना देखील अनेकदा जाहीरपणे म्हटलं होतं.

It started with Maharashtra- walking out of a speech, and furthermore the then governor meddling with government affairs and having an active role in the toppling of a democratically elected and formed government.

For that very reason, he has been conferred the Padma award today!

May be all of these stooges acting as Governors, in TN and other states, will get one too, for damaging the Constitution.

What a shame!
