Our 27th autumn ringing season has ended. All in all our team ringed 73 bird species. Hightlights were #ShortEaredOwl, #GreatGreyShrike and #HenHarrier, amongst others.

Snow and cold brings Waxwings! Sometimes they move over really long distances - one bird ringed in Blekinge, Sweden was found a year later in Novosibirsk, Russia! Six of them were ringed at the station yesterday - five juveniles and an adult! #birdringing #birdbanding

Impressive mass migration with tens of thousands of pigeons, thrushes and finches on #GreifswalderOie today! Nice raptor migration, Red-throated Pipits, Yellow-browed Warbler and Lapland Buntings on top.
