Happy Birthday to my Father, Apostle Emmanuel Iren.

“What is stressing you? Talk to me. You know what? We’ll be placing your child on a scholarship.”

Those words Apostle spoke to me in September during service in August, altered something deep within me. Not long after, on the 11th of September, I received a mail that Michelle had been approved as a beneficiary of the CCI Scholarship, spanning five years. I felt like I was going to faint but I didn’t 🤣🥹

As of December 2022, I had lost everything.
The job.
The house that came with it.
My finances.
All I had was Michelle and even everything I earned went straight to her. I truly had nothing.

A friend told me to return to God and introduced me to the T30 app. That was where I first encountered Apostle’s messages. In my 25 years of living, I had never heard salvation preached with such clarity, depth, and conviction.

At the time, I was attending another church I had decided to be serious with, and I prayed earnestly: “God, do You want me to stay here, or go to CCI?”

Three or four days later, I had a dream. A flash passed before my face, and immediately I saw Pastey standing under Ikeja Bridge. He waited for a bit, then began to walk away. In the dream I said to myself, “What am I doing here? I’m meant to follow this person.” I ran after him and then I woke up.

I forgot the dream until around 9am that morning, when every scene came back clearly. This was January 2023.

I searched for the nearest CCI and decided to attend. My first Sunday, Apostle wasn’t around because he wasn’t the resident pastor at that time. The next Sunday, I couldn’t go because I didn’t even have transport fare from Opic (after Kara) to Adeniyi Jones. The following Sunday, I had transport but suddenly I felt like the church wasn’t my “type.”

But the voice I heard in my head that morning? 😭
I jumped out of bed and ran to church.

That day, Apostle came. And what shocked me the most was how accessible he was. It was a culture shock. I grew up in a church where you couldn’t go near the pastor or their children you’d be told you were bringing witchcraft or trying to tap power. But here was a father, open and reachable.

I summoned courage and asked for a picture. He agreed 😭

From then on, I took my walk with God very seriously. Apostle has appeared in my dreams countless times praying over me, preaching, pouring oil on my head 🥹

My life changed because a man said yes to God’s will.

I’m grateful to God for the gift of spiritual covering. He truly compensated me with a father like Apostle. And even more, he replicated himself because the pastors are like him, and the CCI members who became my anchor when I was drowning? They’re just like our DADDY 🤭
