We are bombarded by troves and trails of information daily. Don't be distracted from what matters! Eternity is the next car on the train, and the next infinite number of cars after that. God is the engine and nothing stops him. Christ is the only way to be saved. #findagoodchurch
@MgcLabs@5Solas@JustinPetersMin My point is Jesus commended the queen. It's not validation of women in leadership - but it's worth a deep dive which I'll do at some point
@MgcLabs@5Solas@JustinPetersMin (Matthew 12:42), he said:
“The Queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon…”
If you want to say Jesus is King, but can't get your own sin patterns in check. Then Jesus isn't King for you, he's your pawn. You may want to claim him for some misplaced political motives, but biblical Messianic Kingship starts with your spiritual walk
@megbasham 300 comments on this post so mine will get lost in the ether. But if a newer Subaru (not including manual transmission WRXs) pulls into church parking lot on Sunday, Matthew chapter 18 needs to initiate
The complaints you're seeing from some Reformed pastors on X about Paul Washer's preaching often boil down to this: Their own church members are drawn to his intense, convicting style and start preferring it over theirs. Washer's fiery calls to examine one's faith, his emphasis on genuine conversion, his preaching against worldliness and his warnings against easy-believism hit hard and resonate deeply with people hungry for that kind of depth. When folks in the pews start quoting Washer more than their own shepherd, it stings.
The reality is, these pastors wouldn't have endured the preaching of Spurgeon and Ryle too...
Thinking about telling that white lie to get your way? Or looking at a woman until lust foments? Consider that you're adding pain to Christ's penal substitutionary atonement suffering, as his atonement was limited to the sin of elect and was commensurate to it #everysinmatters
