@_space_punk_@FrittersMcG Sufficient resources for your basic needs is not greed by definition. Greed is about excess.
Put another way - if the other people are deserving of help to meet their needs, you are just as deserving to have your needs met.
@justalexoki The hard part is that tracking is messy and has a margin of error. So you can't have much confidence you're hitting an exact 100 calorie deficit. Seems like 250 calorie deficits are the minimum viable size for tracking reasons.
@DDo63055@kejca Buffett notoriously does not understand tech (his words) and so avoids it. Apple is one of the exceptions but he did it on the basis of its consumer brand strength. He considers Apple more like Coke or Nike than Google, which is pretty astute.
@dwr The estimated safe carrying capacity of Low Earth Orbit is around 100,000 satellites.
About 14,000 are already deployed.
SpaceX can achieve about 10-11 data centers in LEO if they took up all remaining space.
@thesamparr@SamiRafi1 That's the whole purpose though - adjusted EBITDA gives you the raw earning power. If you want to discount it by estimating the likelihood of a recurring lawsuit, you can do so. But to do that you first have to have a neutral picture of the earnings power of the biz.
@thesamparr Adjustments also flow the opposite direction - if it's an owner operated business, you should subtract market salary away from EBITDA to account for the expense of an investor not intending to operate it.
@thesamparr Almost every business I buy, the owner expenses things like his personal car, cell phone, maybe health insurance, etc. These expenses should be added back to EBIDTA because they don't reflect the actual earnings power of the business and aren't necessary for them to continue.
@Thisiswhyidrin1@freganmitts It's not stupid because no one besides intolerable aspies think he is making a philosophical statement, and so there's no reason to force that interpretation onto his statement except for bad faith purposes.
@Thisiswhyidrin1@freganmitts The interpretation that makes sense is he wishes he had had kids when he was younger, which is an extremely common sentiment that older parents express.
