I'm uninstalling this app. Garbage tweets keep getting pushed into my feed and notifications. No thank you. Hang in there y'all. Take care of your mental health. Free Iran. Screw Israel. Unite Syria.
The Kurds of Raqqa are our neighbors. They have the right of neighborhood, and they are our people with the rights of kin.
We lived side by side with them long before the SDF and pkk . Protect your neighbors, and ensure the safety of those who do not bear arms. In a free Syria, the law is the final arbiter between those who differ.
I visited Ar-Raqqah once in my life, back in 2014, when it was sadly and terribly ruled by ISIS. I can't wait to revisit the city again under these much better circumstances.
Welcome home. You've been missed.
"Nothing has changed"
Well, for one, I -and literal millions like me who were wanted by Assad's terrorist regimen- am able to go home and move freely in Syria with 0 harassment or fear.
Recently, I sat with a Syrian-Palestinian acquaintance who had just come from a visit to Damascus. Someone asked us how Syria is these days, and she proceeded with the “nothing has changed” rhetoric. I sat there looking at her carefully while she complained in an animated manner about the electricity and poverty, adamant that nothing had changed but things were worse, as images of barrel bombs, kids frothing at the mouth from chemical attacks, the pieces of children removed from under rubble, the Ceasar photos, Seydnaya, the starving children of Madaya, the children slaughtered with knives in Houla and Banyas, the Palestinians of Yarmouk eating grass, all flashes through my mind like a movie.
I realized at that moment that nothing I could say to her would change anything if all the horrific things that had happened had not. Some people simply are that shameless.
The SDF militia arrested the child Abdullah Jumaa Al-Ghadban and his friend Sobhi on December 7 after they took a photo with an anti-SDF phrase in the city of Tabqa. Their fate has remained unknown since the moment of their arrest, in a serious violation of children’s rights. It is worth noting that Abdullah is fatherless, and his mother has been suffering severe psychological distress since his detention.
We appeal to the Syrian Commission for the Missing and all human rights and child protection organizations to take urgent action to ensure their immediate release and guarantee their safety.
Those who are upset about Syria's success:
1- Israel
2- The axis of resistance (against Israel)
As much as you two pretend you're not alike, you're the same to us and you align incredibly well with your shitty lack of human rights and decency.
Screw both of you.
I love seeing "Anti-war leftists" celebrating Israel's threats against Syria because settler colonialism is ok if its revenge against people who rejected your favorite dictator. Pathetic losers.
For years, I had nightmares that I would find myself back in Damascus airport, approaching passport control, or sitting at a restaurant in Damascus, and suddenly being gripped by pure terror and fear realising what am I doing here, I will be detained. The conflicting emotions of missing Syria and being terrified of your own country was what haunted us. And doesn’t anymore today.
