On November 30th, @Danielle_Alesi Latin American History class had the pleasure of receiving a guest lecture from Dr. Haley Bowman. Dr. Alesi utilized her John C. Griswold Professorship to bring Dr. Bowman to class to speak about Women and Religion in Colonial Latin America

The students, myself included, had a blast learning about the alternate perspectives of women in convents. Many of us expressed surprise and wonder when learning that joining a convent and becoming enclosed was both oppressive for some, but liberating and a means of protection
