Congratulations to our very own @LukeRoupe19 on being drafted by the @brewers in this years @MLB draft. Luke is the first ever player to be drafted out of Grace Christian School. #theGboys

The Brew Crew is calling Sanford.

Luke Roupe, a right-handed pitcher from Grace Christian of Sanford, was selected in the 17th round of the MLB Draft (515th overall) by the Milwaukee @Brewers on Monday.

Roupe, a South Carolina commit, began his high school career at North Myrtle Beach.

He played his senior year with the Crusaders, and it was a memorable one en route to the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 3A title.

Roupe had a 2.01 ERA at Grace Christian, posting a 7-3 record on the mound with 100 strikeouts and 20 walks in 62 and 2/3 innings pitched. Opponents batted just .172 against him.

Roupe is the sixth high school selection of the draft from North Carolina.
