Some magical progress towards "magic state" in quantum!

Our @GoogleQuantumAI team has demonstrated "magic state cultivation" on physical hardware for the first time. The result is a 40x error reduction on our Willow processor vs. previous methods, achieving a state-of-the-art 99.99% logical fidelity.

Since intelligence is scaled with energy and intelligence determines the wealth of a nation, we should measure the wealth of nations not in GDP or capital markets or any other metric.

We should measure wealth in terms of energy production and overall energy capacity. We should come up with new metrics that connect directly to a country‘s capacity to produce energy.

Totally agree but I think super intelligence in 2027 will have a spiky hairstyle and be rough around the edges. In 2028, I expect it to round out and be much more put-together. 2028 will be the year of sophisticated Super intelligence.

And YES a much needed reminder that greater intelligence gets EASIER as you scale up!

My best guess is that 4-5 labs hit clear, deep, impressive superintelligence in 2027:

- Anthropic
- OpenAI
- SpaceXSI (is that the latest name? lol)
- Google
- Meta

The path to greater intelligence gets EASIER as you scale up, not harder. Among other things this means that even more companies will develop ASI in the late 2020s. Intelligence will start to soak into the whole economy and civilization.

Reality is likely to negate the singleton asi hypothesis.

Some predictions for 2027:
- 80% of full RSI. Only 20% of the loop involves humans.
- The Ai-driven jobs growth/creation narrative reverses. Hiring slowdowns continue. Tech companies begin layoffs.
- Huge Crypto bull run as AI agents begin using crypto
- The Russia-Ukraine and US-Iran wars continue to escalate
