Michigan State went 54-13 during their 2011-2015 peak. That was the 6th-best record in the country in that span. They accomplished this with a fraction of the budget of the 5 programs ahead of them. In 2013, they went 13-1. Their only loss was by 4 points, on the road in a game 3 phantom DPI flags cost them 14 points. For a decade, they were the only team that could beat Urban Meyer. And they did it twice, in dominating fashion on the road and on a neutral field, both times derailing perfect Buckeye seasons. When MSU lost, it was usually by 2 points to a team using an ineligible kicker who made 3 field goals. Or by 1 point in Lincoln after a penalty the conference apologized for. Or by 3 points in Indy on a punter’s flop. At worst, this was the 6th-best program in America for half a decade. The best program in America, dollar-for-dollar. We did it on the cheap. In 2023, the billionaire donors were ready to do it big. We passed, and we’re paying for it. Remember who we were, and what we can be again. Raise the Flag. 🏴‍☠️
