Tonight was my last one here for a while (more on that later this week), so I just wanted to reiterate how unique this place is and how much I’ll miss it.

For the FIRST TIME since 2021, the Cosby Eagles are headed to the regional championship and the sectional round. They only need two more wins to clinch their 10th state tournament appearance in program history and first since 2021.

After allowing Unaka to tie at 66, the Eagles’ defense comes through with a stop following two game-winning free throws from Cruz Coggins. He led the team with 26, 16 in the second half. McMahan had 22.

Unaka’s John Hardin led all scorers with 32 points.

Fittingly, the final points come on a pair of free throws from Cruz Coggins, who set a new career-high with 39 points, 21 on seven 3-pointers. Believe that’s the highest point total for a single Cosby player since Trey Johnson put 60 on Greenback in 2021.
