This is a theme that continues to the design of the Plant as well, where the choice of colour and sloping figure helps it to blend harmoniously into its surroundings.

I was lucky one morning in Tokyo to see a convoy of compact waste collection vehicles leaving Meguro Incineration Plant. This is the epitome of adapting your vehicles to your city rather than your city to your vehicles.

A reading experience like riding a train at night, storming through the darkness.

You know where it is going, you chose to hop aboard, but you hope against hope that inexplicably, you won't arrive.

[Chōkōdō Shujin @C_Shujin]

We are not wounded so deeply when betrayed by the things we hope for as when betrayed by things we try our best to despise. In such betrayal comes the dagger in the back.

Dandelions stir the air,
Waiting to be chewed

A beautiful magazine, and a frequent source of inspiration.

"Recently I was at a base as a man assigned to a new weapon. I did not know when and what conditions for my life there would be. Of course when I looked at aircraft, regrets remained.

However, now such things are useless. Our duty is to be men who ride Kaiten weapons."

The last writing of many Kaiten pilots feature in each volume of Big Sun Press' Facing Death - Last Writings of Japanese Special Attack Corps Members.

In one example Hajime Sano, age 18, perished in a Kaiten attack on Aug 11, 1945. An excerpt from the diary entry he left reads:

[Jeffrey J. Hall 🇯🇵🇺🇸 @mrjeffu]

A grim fact about Japan's Kaiten suicide torpedoes: their first mission sunk one US fuel ship, but the Japanese submarine observing the attack erroneously reported sinking 3 aircraft carriers and 2 battleships, resulting in an expansion of the program.

Excerpt of a Diary Entry written by Ensign Sumio Shima, who passed away in a Special Attack on April 16, piloting a Type-99 Carrier Dive Bomber at the age of 24.

"A person is born from nothing and returns to nothing.

A person, more than how to live, rather should search how to have a beautiful way of dying.

Isn't a person's happiest way of living life when one dies while beautiful dreams still remain in one's life?"

To this end, contributors to the 1st edition have been contacted by email to invite their commentary on the other submissions that accompanied their own.

By publishing these in Edition 2, we look forward to cultivating a sense of community between our worldwide contributor-base.

Reminded today of our pride when seeing our collaborative work with @liztxt 'Me and Yukio Mishima' displayed in such a thoughtful way earlier this year when it released.

Please give Liz, who also translated Ed. 1 of our release 'Farlander' as well as this book, your attention.

And our thanks that you are!

Liam's contribution to 'Wanderer' is one of the most sweeping in its breadth and its depth.

Across twenty-two photographs, 'I Want to Walk on the Highway' takes time to reveal the everyday monstrosities of modernity that have transformed our world.

[Big Sun Press @BigSunPress]

Thank you @emptycollective for your contribution to 'Wanderer'.

@emptycollective's contribution, 'Forks in the Chain' consists of a single, labyrinthian artwork across a two-page spread in the magazine, and has drawn consistent acclaim for its details from our readers.

I am in this.
