@ospreylian3 WRU are keen to avoid a tender as that would open them up to legal challenges under UK Competition Law. By law they would have to include all 4 regions equally in the process.
Sadly the WRU approach of divide and conquer is working.
@WelshRugbyUnity@andyhowellsport@WelshRugbyUnion@SuperRugbyCymru Wow, so you think because they would be criticised if they are “open and honest” it’s acceptable to be secretive and dishonest. That’s a weird position to take. They are getting the “vile abuse” specifically because they have been secretive and dishonest.
@BBCSportWales You could rewrite that simply as…. “We told you what WE wanted to do, asked you what you thought, ignored the responses, now expect you to cooperate and implement the changes YOU don’t want.”
Perfectly sums up the fact that WRU have forgotten that they are owned by the clubs.
@WalesRugby So with on-costs that’s around half a million pound a year wasted on only two management salaries which would be far better spent on the Regions, and could go a long way to saving the 4th Region.
@PhilRugby @NEWBURYMARTIN@WalesRugby@Steffan_Thomas1 And therein lies the big problem, WRU don’t care about Welsh rugby, only their ‘bottom line’. But current Board/Management have forgotten that the WRU is owned by the clubs/regions.
@NEWBURYMARTIN@WalesRugby@Steffan_Thomas1 But don’t forget, that £10m plus saving will be more that wiped out by the reduction in URC and EPRC funding plus reduced (overall) attendances, all together conservatively estimated at £12m pls per annum.
@JackoRugby Well Peter, with the WRU stated wish to cut the professional player pool in Wales by over 40%, whatever you or I think of R360, a lot of players will think it’s a very attractive option.
@HgHuw@GallivanDave@andyhowellsport WRU preferred option for a two ‘entity’ elite system is seriously flawed financially. How will they fund the increased revenue with a cut of c£12M pa from halving URC and ERC income and reduced attendances?
And add to that the huge capital investment needed. 🤷♂️
@HgHuw@GallivanDave@andyhowellsport LRZ was not ‘allowed to leave’, he left the Welsh system because he wanted to go to college in England, and did so despite threats that if he did he would never play for Wales. That’s a despicable way to treat an 18yo who should have been supported rather than threatened.
@RJJBlueAndBlack Remind my @Oweninsouts where does current Cardiff captain, Liam Belcher come from? Oh and former captain Elis Jenkins? If your stuck and if i’m not mistaken one’s Treorchy and the other Pontypridd, so no Valleys representation?????🤷♂️
@andyhowellsport Useless survey, that doesn’t even ask the key question…. i.e. do you agree/disagree with the WRU’s preferred 2 ‘entity’ model. Probably because they know it would be 100% NO!
@JeremyVineOn5 There is an assumption that alcohol causes every accident where the driver is over the limit. However it has never been shown that at or just below the current limit has been the cause of a single crash.
@stephenjones9@JiffyRugby I agree, and the one asking for your preferred %age funding for the various levels from Community to National is ridiculous without giving current split. I felt like putting 100% for each level 😂
@JNPhillips4@simonrug Well said Ken, the WRU have looked at a flawed financial model, the 2 entity solution will result in at least £12M reduced income to Welsh rugby, a smaller player pool, and loss of community identity.
@BBCSportWales@BBCScrumV Reddin has a pretty spectacular CV that he is about to ruin along with Welsh regional rugby, which he clearly has no understanding of. The ‘strategy’ is full of contradictions, believing that reducing the elite player pool from 170 to 100 will produce more quality players??? ♂️
@ChaponaBike123 The problem here is quite clear, the cyclists haphazardly chopping and changing from the cycle lane into the main carriageway and crossing the line of bollards without any signaling or consideration for other road users. The van maintained his line and distance. Cyclist at fault.
@RobLMyers Hey @RobLMyers serious question for you… if the ‘alleged’ £1M pay off to “she who cannot be named, but has” is true, does that count under the cost cap? and for that matter also the ‘independent’ KC’s and all other legal fees… they must be mounting up 🤷♂️😉😀
@TheBishF1@debra_w_hughes@David_Challen It’s a pity then that you used the word ‘exonerated’ when as a journalist you knew full well that using that word gave a completely false message. The truth is Horner DID act inappropriately but RBR decided it did not reach the threshold for disciplinary action.
