Please respect fire restrictions and camping prohibitions in place by the National Forest Service. They are designed to prevent devastating forest fires but only if they are adhered to; thank you firefighters for your continued heroism!
HOLCOMB VALLEY — US Forest Service firefighters have just contained a 30x30’ wildfire that escaped from an illegal and abandoned campfire in Big Bear.
Please remember☝️
Both campfires and dispersed camping are still currently prohibited in the SBNF due to elevated fire danger.
The days are shorter and the temperatures are cooler but wildfire remains a concern. Keep your guard up while enjoying the forest this holiday week. #OneLessSpark
CA curfew requires non-essential work, movement & gatherings to stop 10 PM-5 AM in purple tier counties. Order in effect Nov. 21. Restaurants & businesses will operate with coronavirus guidelines. If cancelling lodging, you must do so directly with the lodging facility.
Fire restrictions remain in effect due to high temperatures remaining in the area, winds continuing to dry out vegetation and no precipitation in the forecast.
All restrictions are listed here: https://t.co/vvn48TAwk8
The #AppleFire, #ElDoradoFire & #SnowFire are now 100% contained but remain in uncontrolled status. This means smoldering continues within the fires’ perimeters.
