I’m a liberal. I’m a feminist. I suffered postpartum depression with my first child. It was terrifying. I was fortunate enough to have a doctor listen to me. I recovered. Some women don’t recover. Some carry the depression longer. Some women don’t have a support system. This is never an excuse for murder.

Some of us started with BIG dreams, but the system showed us shege.

I studied French (first degree) because I wanted to build a career in an international organisation. During NYSC, I got the opportunity to serve at the ECOWAS Parliament.

To me, that was huge. I served with my whole heart.

I respected people. I worked hard. I built relationships. My direct boss liked my work, and I started imagining that after NYSC, I could return as an ad hoc staff and eventually build my career there.

I had a woman in leadership I looked up to. I thought, “I want to become like her one day.”

When NYSC ended, I applied for every opening I saw at ECOWAS. Rejection after rejection.

One day, my boss told me something, She said she would have liked to help me get into ECOWAS, but she did not think I was “strong enough” for the politics of the organisation.

And she was right, the politics in ECOWAS was real. Most of the NYSC members that got adhoc staff roles either slept with a director or paid millions.

I later worked as a personal assistant to a contract staff member at ECOWAS. I was still applying. Still trying. Still hoping.

But my own boss started asking me for a relationship. I said no, and he fired me.

That experience shattered something in me. I started asking myself:

“How do you keep dreaming when the system keeps telling you that there's no place for you here?”

Some of us WERE dreaming very big.

I did not become a Virtual Assistant because it was my childhood dream.

I learned VA skills because I needed to survive.

I had worked as an Executive Assistant (onsite) for years, earning ₦80k–₦90k while dealing with toxic environments and bosses.

Then I got my first VA client who paid me more than ₦100k.

That changed something for me.

For the first time, I could see a clearer relationship between the value I provided and what I earned.

Sometimes people changed direction because they needed to survive.

And honestly, I am only now beginning to go back to some of the dreams I had before life taught me to think smaller.

Maybe the problem was never that we lacked ambition.

Maybe some of us simply needed an environment where ambition had room to breathe.

The Nelfund initiative has enrolled over 1.8 million students to have access to interest free loans which would only be paid back two years post NYSC or when they get employed. The best thing is that only 10% of their salaries will go into repayment every month

•The economy is getting better. Foreign reserves are increasing and allocation to state governors have increased significantly. Hope you know they shared 3 trillion this month (the highest ever in the history of Nigeria). If your state is lacking hospitals and good roads, hold your governor accountable

The federal government is doing its parts in construction sophisticated carriage highways across the country like: the Lagos to Calabar one, the Sokoto to Badagry express way, Ilesha to Ibadan express way, Calabar to Abuja Super Highway, and many more.

Local government autonomy too is there, where LGAS will get direct funding to embark on projects. All those your primary health centers, your local government can fund them in peace now.

Unlike Obi that saved all the money meant to develop Anambra in the bank, without any tangible landmark achievements to show for his 8 years in Anambra, Asiwaju is laying the foundation for a better Nigeria.

Please give me five solid things your candidate did during his tenure as a governor.
