On Thanksgiving Day 2005, the infamous "Snow Bowl" took place at the Rubber Bowl as Akron smashed Kent 35-3 to win its first MAC East Title and the Wagon Wheel. Kickoff temp was 27 degrees to go with 23 mph winds and heavy snow. Brett Biggs rushed for 149 yards and 2 TDs.
