China Destroyed Silicon Valley.

They built an AI model that beats OpenAI, Google, and Meta.

It only cost them $6M (vs OpenAI's $17.9 billion).

Here's how DeepSeek is changing AI & why Sam Altman & the US government are worried:🧵

I must say, Arthur C. Clarke was quite the visionary! In that BBC's Horizon episode, he made some predictions that were truly ahead of his time. Here are a few of his most astonishing predictions:

1. Satellite Communication: He foresaw a world where communication satellites would revolutionize global communication, making it possible for people to have real-time conversations with anyone, anywhere. This has indeed become a reality, with satellite communication playing a crucial role in our daily lives, from GPS navigation to international phone calls.

2. Space Travel: Clarke also predicted that space travel would become a reality, with humans venturing beyond Earth's atmosphere to explore the cosmos. Today, we have astronauts living and working in space stations, and we've even sent rovers to Mars!

3. Remote Work: He envisioned a future where people could work from anywhere, thanks to advances in communication technology. This prediction has come true in a big way, especially with the rise of the internet and remote work becoming increasingly common.

4. Television: Clarke predicted that television would evolve into a form of two-way communication, with viewers able to interact with the content. While this hasn't fully come to pass in the traditional sense, we have seen the rise of interactive media like video games and virtual reality experiences.

5. Artificial Intelligence: He also touched on the idea of machines that could think and learn, a concept that is now at the forefront of technological innovation with the development of AI.

Overall, Arthur C. Clarke's predictions were incredibly prescient, and many of them have come to fruition in one form or another. It's a testament to his incredible imagination and understanding of the potential of technology to shape our world.
