Cycling on knobby, skinny or fat tires around Banff, Canada. For fun, commuting or escape. Showing style or crashing pathetically, ride in the Rockies.
If you're out on skinny tires and want hit Hwy 1A (Bow Valley Parkway), you have to walk about 120 metres on snow and ice today on the Legacy Trail connector from Vermilion Lk Rd. Or take the TCH.
Town of #Banff crews have started townwide street sweeping and will continue until the end of May. Give the sweeper plenty of room so it can effectively clean streets.
If there are any temporary parking bans for street sweeping, we’ll let you know through our alerts system. Sign up online for an email, text, phone call or download the app at https://t.co/dic8x5h88T so you can move your vehicle.

Intuitive connection between number of bike lanes and people who cycle, but very good data here, including link to quality of life.

I made a video in May counting the number of bikes vs cars on Bloor. My comments got filled with people telling me that no one bikes for 6 months of the year. I just took a new video in February to prove my point. Cycling solves congestion year round!
✅ We all love visiting European cities that are designed for #PeopleNotCars.
❌ But back home we are obsessed with ensuring there are enough parking spots & traffic impact studies for our car-obsessed post-war development pattern. 🤦🏻♂️

2024 will bring Banff's first dedicated bus lane (and a separated uphill trail for bikes and peds). It's a small step in prioritizing people and transit over vehicles. https://t.co/k6YZt2yu8E
Last chance to take the survey on the Mountain Ave Express Bus Lane and Separated Multi-Use Trail. Survey closes Sept. 24 https://t.co/kKTj81UJMm #Banff
Making a street appear and feel narrower causes drivers to navigate more cautiously, reducing speed and paying closer attention to potential conflicts. Want to make your streets safer? Try optical narrowing.
