For any new followers! This handle is run by the City of Kansas City, MO. @BikeKC is our city initiative to transform KCMO into a more bikeable & walkable city. You'll find bike project updates from Public Works and #KCBikePlan updates from @KCMOPlanning here. 👍🚴♀️🚶♂️
What comes to mind when you hear the word transportation? Is it cars and buses or walking and biking? It’s important that we hear from a diverse group of @KCMO residents about the transportation needs of our city. Share your thoughts: https://t.co/YugfXdvttB #KCPlaybook

Trying out easy to use bike hold-down straps for use onboard @kcstreetcar, with eye towards Main St Extension & significant increase in bicycle boardings. Bike friends- Would such a feature be useful to you? M2C- Wider strap with Velcro would be in order. #kcstreetcar
@ScottKCMO @STBikesKC @garfenrettley@BikeWalkKC To be cost and time effective, we're relying on a combination of internal resources and existing third party contracts to deliver this project. As a result, implementation must be phased.
@STBikesKC @garfenrettley@BikeWalkKC For the time being, bicyclists are advised to detour to sidewalk and watch for pedestrians; cross Linwood as a pedestrian.
@STBikesKC @garfenrettley@BikeWalkKC Hi there! Thanks for looping us in, @STBIKESKC. The current configuration from this point north to 31st is temporary.
This fall, a connection to 31st St. will be constructed which includes reworking the intersections of Linwood and Gillham.
KCMO #PublicWorks, in partnership with @MidtownKCNow & @StreetSmartsDB, has been awarded a $25,000 national grant from @BloombergDotOrg. This project will enhance one to three intersections along Westport Rd between Broadway Blvd & Main St in Midtown KCMO.

New & improved bicycle/scooter parking at the SW corner of 18th & Oak! This on-street, micromobility hub adds dedicated space for scooters & bikes while also decluttering the sidewalk. An important step in providing more end-of-trip facilities for bikes & scooters in #KCMO 🚲🛴
The 18th and Oak Micromobility Hub is ready for action!
This hub can support six bicycles and up to 25 scooters while also providing a traffic calming affect along Oak Street.
Placing these hubs in the unused areas of the streets help keep sidewalks clear and free from hazards
