After getting back from Italy I started racing again. I've done 10 races and podiumed in 8. Talk about consistent 1st, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 1st, 2nd, 3rd across crits and road races. Thanks to Eastern vets cycling, Croydon Cycle Works @CC_WORKS for the races and support.
Thanks to Eastern Cycling Club for running the races and thanks to David Richards @gbcyclingtours and @croydoncycleworks for sponsoring the series. Three races, three 3rds, I'm starting to see a pattern.
I rode up Monte Campione today and then rolled around Lago Iseo to spin the legs afterwards. What a fantastic climb Monte Campione is. Full of history on Marco Pantani with an awesome statue at the top. @cyclingthedream
Another big bucket item ticked off today. I went to the Madonna del Ghisallo. It's the cycling museum/ church pinnacle location to visit. OMG the church is full of unbelievable history and the museum just topped it all off. I felt like bowing in respect when I saw the church.
Sad to say goodbye to John and Carlo that supported us though out the Dolomites and around Bormio. But @cyclingthedream Italy Bike Tours are still helping me out. I have another 6 days around Lago Iseo to enjoy some more riding. Still some vertical meters to put in.
I had one main goal to tick off my bucket list & it was to do Passo Stelvio the classic side. After descending into Switzerland and back into Italy followed by 48 hairpins, I can finally say I've done it. Again a huge thanks to John and Italy Bike Tours for making it all possible
Well that was one hell of a day. Ticked off the Mortirolo & Gavia today. Doing them back to back certain hurts but I'm so pleased I've finally done them. Thanks again to John & @cyclingthedream for making it possible.
Today a long time dream came true, I got to climb Passo Stelvio from Bormio. What an absolute stunning ride it was, it was the cold. I lost all feeling in my fingers and toes a few ks from the top. Thanks to John & Italy Bike Tours @cyclingthedream for making a dream come true.
Stunning day after a morning with a full on thunderstorm. Great recovery ride out to Lago Di Carezza. Thanks John & @cyclingthedream Italy bike tours
Today a mix of everything. Started out just okay weather, then a shower, then bright sunshine at the top of Passo Giau then rain on the descent and poured down on the ascent of Passo Falzarego. Jumped in the van there to wet. Thanks again to John and @cyclingthedream
Apologies in advance. Nah not really. Today we did the spectacular Sella Ronda loop. Absolutely breath taking views and weather was just right. I did this loop a few years ago and I'd come back and do it tomorrow. Thanks again to John and @cyclingthedream Italy Bike Tours
To wet and cold to get out. So why not do a Fulgaz course of what I'll be doing with Italy Bike Tours 10 day tour in July. #italybiketours@cyclingthedream
A little bit of training over the last few days. 3 days of over 100ks and 2000vm. Putting in the time for Italy Bike Tours 10 day Dolomites tour in July. And thanks to my darling wife Kylie McArdle for her support. #italybiketours@cyclingthedream
What a beautiful day to get out for a ride. Tad chilly but still nice. Training for Italy Bike Tours 10 day Dolomites tour. Clock up the vertical metres. #italybiketours@cyclingthedream
