The Monongahela Connecting Railroad Bridge, now known mostly as the Hot Metal Bridge.
The bike-ped span there really should be named for former Mayor Tom Murphy. If you are a fan in any way of the City of Pittsburgh’s extensive trail system, most of it would not exist except for him (+ a shout out to Darla C.), especially the conversion of this bridge.

A new sidewalk may seem small but it’s major for those walking to Chartiers Park.
My team joined Councilwoman Salinetro and residents last night to celebrate the installation of a new sidewalk that creates safer, more accessible connections to parks & other community spaces.
In 2024, the City asked, and the answer was clear: 129 people supported keeping Serpentine Dr car-free, while 27 opposed. Now, some want to bring back the very thing that destroyed the historic wall: cars.
Let’s not go backward.
