Wonderful news announced at Greenville County Council on Tuesday that this important project can move forward!
Ty Houck with @greenvillerec tells us that there is a lot of planning, design, and alignment work and coordination with US DOT currently.
We were pleased to see that the construction barriers finally came down with the opening of the @peacecenter new music venue. People on foot and on bikes can now again use that side of the Reedy River!
I assume every car is driven by a stoned 22 yr old facetiming with their ex to convince them they deserve a 4th chance.
Also, please walk against traffic, and don't wear all black at night.
A big thank you to the @greenvillerec Trail Stewards for spreading mulch around the statue we donated and garden that our non-profit planted on the SRT.
Their work today saved us from recruiting volunteers to spread mulch as we did last year. ๐๐
Thanks to @PCGreenville for covering the citizen comment meeting last night about this exciting new project by the @CityGreenville
Greenville must choose a new route for the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Here are the options. https://t.co/n4rPAdQg6k
Thanks to @GreenvilleWater for this great effort yesterday to smooth out the dangerous bumps on the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail!
Also, a big thank you to Ty Houck for coordinating this work and to the @greenvillerec trail crew.
Itโs the worst of both worldsโa street designed like a road. It tries to move cars fast and support businesses with foot traffic.. but ends up being unsafe.
๐ข Greenville deserves better. We need to redesign these corridors to prioritize people and placeโnot just speed.
Our volunteers make our work possible! Huge thank you to one of our volunteers who got out in the summer heat to trim back the tree and weed in front of the Lakeview Link statue. Now all trail users can see the statue on their trips. ๐๐
Trail etiquette on the Swamp Rabbit Trail has always been an issue. Some say that โpeople are people,โ and it impossible to tell them what do to do. This post by the Greenville Spinners Bicycle Club is a great message to all who ride bikes that they need to do better!
Bike Walk Greenville was pleased to have sponsored one of these @TravelersRestSC Swamp Rabbits. Have you seen all of them as yet?

Giving nursing home residents a chance to experience the Swamp Rabbit Trail. ๐
@mayorwhite95 got a request from a 90-year-old constituent asking whether she and her friends could use the trail they hear so much about. Watch to see the wish granted โก๏ธ https://t.co/6R7aMSEHW3
Greenville Bike Commuters (and those interested in bike commuting!) - come join us on Wednesday, May 14th in the Coffee Bar at Swamp Rabbit Cafe for a celebration of Bike To Work Week! Weโll enjoy a happy hour, and share tips and tricks.
We at Bike Walk Greenville are pleased to be a sponsor of one of the Beyond the Burrow Rabbits for @TravelersRestSC. Next week they will hop into their new homes along Main Street.
Greenville County crews are continuing the improvements to the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail Network - look out for wet paint as they continue south from Travelers Rest and as always, please pass with care when on the trail!
